5 Female Superheroes Besides Black Widow Who Deserve Their Own Movie!

Watching Captain America: Civil War made us even more unsure about whether we're Team Iron Man or Team Captain America, but we do know one thing: We're Team Black Widow and she deserves her own movie, like, now.

The good news is that Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige says Black Widow is at the top of the list to get her own movie once all the scheduled Marvel releases are out of the way. The bad news is that means Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow won't be getting a film of her own until at least 2020.

Luckily for all of us, we don't have to wait that long until we get to see some of our fave female superheroes at the helm of their own films. Wonder Woman is making her big screen debut on June 2, 2017, and a movie about the lesser-known Marvel hero Captain Marvel will follow on July 6, 2018.

But obviously, we don't think the studios should stop there. There are so many superheroines with amazing stories that demand to be made into movies of their own, and we have a few ideas on who should go first.

Sif

Sif is a powerful warrior from Asgard, and one of Thor's most trusted friends and allies. On the battlefield, her skills rival those of the men she fights alongside.

In the Thor movies she's portrayed by Jaimie Alexander, and we'd love to see her carry a standalone Sif film!

Barbara Gordon, AKA Batgirl

Barbara Gordon, the daughter of commissioner Jim Gordon, is a librarian by day and the masked crimefighter Batgirl by night.

Basically, she's the partner that Batman never knew he needed (sorry Robin). We've seen a ton of Batman movies, and it's about time Batgirl got her own shot at the silver screen.

Kamala Khan, AKA Ms. Marvel

Marvel superhero Kamala Khan, AKA Ms. Marvel

(via Marvel)

Kamala Khan is a Pakistani American girl from New Jersey who discovered that she's inherited some incredible shapeshifting superpowers thanks to her royal lineage.

Not only does she kick butt, but she's also Marvel's first Muslim character to have her own comic book. Why not take the next step and make her the first Muslim superhero with her own movie?

Doreen Green, AKA Squirrel Girl

Marvel superhero Doreen Green, aka Squirrel Girl

Doreen Green has the power to talk to and command squirrels. Best. Superpower. Ever. She was just 14 when she rescued Iron Man from Doctor Doom with the help of a few dozen squirrels, and her sidekick is a particularly smart squirrel named Monkey Joe.

BTW, we think Kristen Schaal, the voice of Mabel on Gravity Falls, would make a perfect Squirrel Girl onscreen.

Koriand'r, AKA Starfire

DC superhero Koriand'r, AKA Starfire

(via DC Entertainment)

Koriand'r is an alien princess from a planet called Tamaran. After escaping the rule of her evil sister, she comes to earth to join the Teen Titans and fight evildoers as Starfire.

She draws much of her power from the sun, but we'd love it if the movie would also focus on the strength she draws from her own emotions. Do not make this girl angry!

Are you more Black Widow or Scarlet Witch? This quiz will reveal the answer once and for all.
