If You’re Not Down With Your School’s Grad Night, Here Are Some Alternatives
Celebrating your high school graduation is definitely something you should do. But celebrating it at grad night isn't always the way to go.
You're more than likely going to be stuffed into your school's gym surrounded by classmates you don't particularly like. It's way more expensive than it needs to be. Oh, and the kicker, you don't get to leave until it's officially over. We don't know about you, but if you're not completely sold on the idea from the get-go, the above factors sound like a recipe for disaster.
If you're not down with attending grad night, we're offering some more exciting alternatives below.
Host a Slumber Party
The point of Grad Night is to stay up all night celebrating your momentous milestone with your best friends, so why not just do that in the comfort of your own home, rather than in your school's packed gym? You won't have to see any exes or school bullies when you control the guest list. And you also have the power to dictate what goes on at your party. The same can't be said for your school's Grad Night.
Hang Out With Your Family
Listen, your family stood by you through thick and thin all of high school, so why not spend some precious moments with them? You'll have all summer to hang with your besties, so let your family have this night. You know they're more than deserving of your time. Plus, when you head off to college, you won't really get to see them all too often. It's bittersweet to think about, really.

Throw a Bonfire
Bonfires are always a great way to kick off summer vacation. They're fun and can bring together a wide variety of people. This is a great option if you're sort of a floater and have friends in a bunch of different groups at your school. Who can say no to roasting marshmallows and hot dogs in such a scenic environment?
Take Some Go-Karts for a Spin
If you're a competitive person, go-kart racing is right up your alley. You could end up being a pro at it and totally schooling your besties on the track. This one is definitely on the more expensive side, but it will still probably cost about half of what you'd pay for a Grad Night ticket.
Try Your Hand at Mini Golf
Graduating high school almost feels like you're becoming an adult. You'll be going off to college, graduating from there and then entering the "real world." Adulthood happens fast, so if you don't stop to enjoy being a kid, you'll miss out on some incredible opportunities. Mini golfing will bring you back to the gold old days of yesteryear. Go on, get your kid on!

Go Cosmic Bowling
Bowling is a bit juvenile, but cosmic bowling is on a whole other level. Light up the night with your closest friends, and maybe even your crush, at your local bowling alley. Not to mention, bowling alleys have some pretty delicious ways to chow down. Mozzarella sticks and potato skins, anyone?
Sleep
If you're not about staying up all night, just sleep after your graduation. Honestly, you deserve it. High school was rough and college is about to get even tougher, so get your rest while you still can. Grad Night who?
