Why Is Taylor Swift One Of Time’s 100 Influential People?

Time recently released their 2015 list of 100 Most Influential People, and a few of our idols made the list. Misty Copeland, Taylor Swift and Emma Watson aren't just popular, but pioneers in their industries. Check out what the magazine had to say about their accomplishments!

Misty Copeland is the first bi-racial soloist in two decades with the American Ballet Theatre, overcoming a late start to the art, as well as racial biases, to become one of the most famous ballerinas in the world. Her Time article is written by gymnast five-time Olympic gold medalist Nadia Comăneci.

Emma Watson is best known for playing Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter series, but the Brown-educated actress is also an outspoken activist, calling on men to get involved in the gender equality conversation with the UN Women campaign HeForShe. And apparently she lives by it. Although she is one of the world's highest-paid actresses, she has spoken out about the paucity of female directors in Hollywood."

Taylor Swift needs no introduction… but the fact that her album sold 3.53 million copies in less than 3 months is one indication of her major star power. Her Time article is written by actress Mariska Hargitay, who plays Olivia Benson on CSI.
