20 Things I’m Doing Before 2020 to Feel Like My Life’s in Order
2020 is in a couple months. I know, crazy.
How did we get here so fast? Honestly, the last few years have completely flown by for me. From graduating college to moving to Los Angeles, my life has been pretty jam-packed full of life-altering events.
Now that we're entering the '20s, it's made me reflect on this past year, in particular. Sure, I could tell myself I'll go to the gym more often and cut down on Netflix (but that ain't happening), or I can be real with myself and come up with goals that are actually attainable.
Below, I've created a list of 20 things I'm doing before 2020 to make me feel like my life's in order. But this isn't just for me. I think you'll benefit from this list, too!
1. Read at Least Two Books for Fun
I'm a serial reader and majorly obsessed with my Kindle (understatement of the century), so starting out with something like this is a no-brainer. I will 100% complete this goal before 2020 rolls around.

2. Get My Hair Cut
I've been putting off getting my hair cut for months now, and it's time to finally bite the bullet. After all, these split-ends aren't going to take care of themselves.
3. Reconnect With an Old Friend
Since I'll be going home for the holidays, it should be relatively easy reconnecting with an old friend of mine. It's always great to catch up on the good ol' days.
4. Donate Blood
Donating blood is seriously scary for me, but it's something I know will make me feel good. Helping others is what the holidays are really all about, so I need to do my part.
5. Go Out to Eat By Myself
Eating by yourself at a restaurant is no easy feat. I've done it before but made a promise to myself to do it again. If you decide to do this, try not to use your phone as a shield.

6. Open Up About My Feelings
I tend to keep my worries to myself, not wanting to burden others. This hinders the growth of relationships, so I'm making a promise to myself to be more open.
7. Come Up With a New Year's Resolution
I'll need to do some major thinking for next year's resolution. I've found that by splitting it up into smaller steps, I'm actually able to complete it.
8. Journal My Favorite Memory From 2019
I already have this memory in mind, and it's something I'd love to look back on years down the road. There are certain events in life that need to be documented—trust me, you'll thank yourself later!
9. Get Outside for an Hour Every Day
Since I sit in an office most of the day, I'm basically a vampire. I have no tan and sometimes forget what fresh air smells like. If this sounds like you, you definitely need to do this.
10. Write a Letter to My Best Friend
It's important to remind your loved ones of how important they are to you. I'm going to take the time to send out hand-written letters to my best friends before the year's up. I know they'll majorly appreciate it.

11. Go a Week Without T.V.
The second I get home each night, I turn on Friends, start cooking dinner and complete my household chores. The show is more for background noise, but I'm determined to go one week without it (wish me luck).
12. Treat Myself to an At-Home Spa Day
If you're anything like me, the holidays stress you out. While it's my favorite season, I rarely time find to relax. I plan on making the ultimate bubble bath and face mask situation.
13. Clean Out My Closet
Spring cleaning in the fall is a dreaded activity for most of us—myself included. However, if you plan on updating your fall wardrobe, make some room and get rid of unworn clothes.
14. Take an Amazing Pic for My IG Feed
It's always fun to have a mini photoshoot with friends. Whether I have on killer makeup, or am wearing a trendy outfit, it's something that needs to be captured on film.
15. Do a Reiki Spiritual Healing
If you're unfamiliar with reiki, it's a holistic healing technique. I've been dying to try this out and will be sure to report back with how my experience went.

16. Make a New Friend
Making new friends is no easy feat, which is why I'm forcing myself to add a new contact to my ever-growing list of pals. It's a great way to grow and expand your horizons, so I'd definitely recommend trying it out.
17. Buy Myself Flowers
Since we all experience down days (I know I do), it's important to cheer yourself up. Buying yourself flowers is a great way to do so and is sure to bring a smile to your face.
18. Clean Out My Purse
Ugh, the dreaded abyss of my purse is something I try to avoid at all costs. From random receipts to candy wrappers (hey, it's Halloween), my bag has seen better days.
19. Do a Random Act of Kindness for My Mama
Our mom birthed us, so it's only fair we show her how much we love her. Even something as simple as cooking dinner one night is an amazing way to show your mom how thankful you are.
20. Do a Deep-Dive Into My Zodiac Sign
Astrology is seriously fascinating, and with today being the start of Mercury in retrograde, it's got me wandering about my sign (Leo) in particular.
