The Halloween Costume Trends You’ll Be Seeing Everywhere in 2022

While there are some classic Halloween costumes we can count on seeing every year, from vampires and werewolves to witches, ghosts and zombies, our favorites will always be the ones that bring the pop culture zeitgeist to life.

We just love costumes that feel current and fresh, and that reflect the things that everyone is talking about. For Halloween 2022, the looks are going to be more creative than ever. Here's a list of our most anticipated costume trends for the year.

House Targaryen

The Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon is all the rage at the moment, so it comes as no surprise that it's going to inspire some costumes this year. Expect to see a lot of elaborate fantasy costuming, complete with House Targaryen's signature platinum blonde wigs.

The Sandman

The Sandman has been one of Netflix's biggest successes of 2022, and with an innovative, fantastical series and an original comic book to base looks on, it's giving fans lots of opportunities to dress up as iconic characters. Of course, Morpheus (AKA Dream) is going to be a popular costume choice, but we're also anticipating looks based on Death, Desire, the Corinthian, Lucifer and more this Halloween.

The Sanderson Sisters

Hocus Pocus's Sanderson Sisters have been a classic Halloween costume choice ever since the first film dropped in 1993, but with the sequel out this year, we're counting on seeing more witchy sisters than ever. Is there a more iconic trio costume?

She-Hulk

Disney+'s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law has quickly become one of our favorite courtroom sitcoms, made even better with the inclusion of superpowers and cameos from our Marvel faves. Jennifer Walters' She-Hulk is the woman we all want to be, so if you look super hot with that She-Hulk TikTok filter, you might want to try this lean, green costume out this year.

Eddie Munson

If you didn't fall in love with Joseph Quinn's new character, Eddie Munson, in the latest season of Stranger Things, you weren't paying attention. It didn't take long at all for the Dungeons & Dragons-playing metalhead to work his way into all of our hearts, and the Eddie costumes this year are going to be on point.

Barbie

Margot Robbie may have been horrified when images of her and Ryan Gosling from next year's Barbie film leaked, but we weren't. Those neon rollerskating looks are instant classics, which is why we think they'll be big this year, even if the movie won't drop for a while.

Cassie Howard

Euphoria's Cassie Howard is a character we love to hate, and in the show's second season, she used style as a weapon, copying every aspect of Maddy's looks in order to woo her ex, Nate. It's rare that clothing choices are downright villainous, which is what will make dressing up as her so fun.
