The Forgotten ’90s Trend We’re Still Desperately Hoping Makes a Comeback

The '90s have been making a pretty big comeback over the past year or so.

Chokerszig-zag hair, jelly shoes, Lisa Frank, just about everything ever loved by a '90s girl has made its way back to life.

That said, there's still one past trend that still hasn't made its modern-day rounds—butterfly clips.

Every single girl had a draw full of these bad boys in a variety of different sizes and colors, myself included.

Sure, they were made of cheap plastic and broke after using them once—sometimes before you even had the chance to clip them in your hair, but they were a necessity.

When everyone from Britney Spears to Lizzie McGuire (aka Hilary Duff) were seen sporting the hair accessories, you knew you had to, too.

I probably added at least 20 clips a week to my collection, but it's not like I even wore them that often. Especially because everyone wore them the same. exact. way.

Us '90s kids weren't too original, now that I think about it. Hey, at least we looked cute.

Now that every single other trend from that decade has made its way back into our everyday lives, it's about time the butterfly clips did, too.

Literally anyone can rock 'em. It doesn't matter if you have long, medium or short hair, these clips will look stunning in your luscious locks.

They're also ridiculously inexpensive. A pack of 100 goes for $12.20 on Amazon. Yep, you read that right.

There's really no reason 2017 shouldn't be the year we reintroduce the butterfly clips. The pros clearly outweigh the cons, so we'll be patiently waiting their return.

While we're on the topic of '90s trends, let's talk about how the bowl cut is having a moment HERE.
