A Definitive Ranking of Fruit Juices

Between pop, water, coffee, tea and every other beverage option, our favorite has to be juice. Depending on what you purchase, juice may almost be as healthy as water. Plus, it's just that good.

As frequent juice drinkers, we have a lot of strong opinions of them. Below, discover our ranking of the most common fruit juice.

7. Watermelon

We are very biased when it comes to watermelon. We think it is the worst fruit. It has a bland flavor and smells gross, and the soggy texture is off-putting. As you can guess, it doesn't get any better for us when you juice one. Honestly, it may be worse because the sugar increases the flavor.

6. Pineapple

We'll probably surprise many people by ranking pineapple juice so low. As a disclaimer, we love pineapple. It's one of the best fruit flavors. We love to eat them in their natural form, we love their scent (in food and perfume), and they pair well with other drinks. Sadly, we just don't love it as a juice. Something is missing, and we like the other forms more.

5. Orange

Ah, classic orange juice. You can never go wrong with a cup of OJ in the morning. That said, we only like to drink it in specific circumstances. It has to be hours after we brush our teeth (because everyone knows orange juice and toothpaste are a terrible combination). Plus, it only tastes satisfying during breakfast! If we could find a way to incorporate it into other meals of the day, then we would probably rank it higher.

4. Grape

Grape juice has grown on us over the past few years. We're not people who love grapes (the fruit), but the juice version is underrated. It's tart and tangy without feeling acidic, like orange juice. It also tastes delicious by itself but can complement other flavors, like raspberry and cranberry.

3. Apple

We're in our top three! Ringing in at our third spot is apple juice. By far, apple has the softest flavor. It's not too sour, acidic or sweet. It's the perfect balance of everything. It's also the most versatile on this list. You can enjoy it for breakfast, but it works well with lunch or dinner foods. Oh, and you can even drink it hot—especially in the summer.

2. Cranberry

Cranberry is an underrated fruit. As a disclaimer, we love anything berry, so we're biased, but cranberry is the best. It comes tartness with sweetness—and neither flavor profile overpowers the other. It's not as versatile as apples, but it still can hold its own weight but enhance other fruit juices. It's also one of the best flavors to include in a mocktail!

1. Lemonade

If you asked us about lemon juice, it would rank at the bottom of our list. Who wants to drink something purely sour and deal with terrible heartburn at night? Not us! However, because our favorite drink is lemonade, we must pretend it is the real lemon juice.

Honestly, we're not sure what it is, but something about the combination of lemons and sugar makes our hearts sing. It's like heaven in a cup—and never gets old. In theory, it might not taste good with any meal, but we'll make it work because we love it that much.
