A Definitive Ranking of the Most Chain Popular Coffee Shops
For better or worse, I'm in the category of people who always crave a sweet treat. I don't care if it's a cookie, cake, smoothie or frappe, and one type of shop always has my back: a café.
Because of my cravings for desserts, I spend a lot of money and time ordering fruity iced teas and pastries from Starbucks, Dunkin' Donuts and anywhere else you can imagine, so it's safe to say I'm kind of a connoisseur with a lot of options. To learn more about my coffee shop opinions, keep scrolling to discover my definitive ranking of the most popular franchises.
7. Tim Hortons
I've only had Tim Hortons once, and I'm not running to try it again. The food was soggy, and my drink tasted water down. Even as I look at the website, I don't instantly crave any of the items I see on the menu. However, I'd bet money it tastes better if I tried it in its home country, Canada. Hey—I'll give them extra points because they had a collaboration with Justin Bieber and Shawn Mendes.

6. Peet's Coffee
Ah, Peet's Coffee. It was my closest coffee shop for a few years of my life. Sadly, I didn't find myself there often because their menu is limited, especially if you try to avoid caffeine like me. Overall, the food was a bit vanilla, too.
5. Philz Coffee
Philz Coffee has an advantage because I would visit it when I still drank caffeinated coffee. As a brown sugar lover, the Dancing Water was a dream. Plus, it always had the perfect balance of milk and coffee. Even though I've abandoned my daily cup of joe, I still enjoy going there to pick up their delicious pastries. I'm already craving that buttery salted chocolate chip cookie.

4. Starbucks Coffee
Most days, Starbucks has the most convenient locations. You can practically find one on every corner. Thankfully, they have an expansive menu with fun limited-edition items, too. I tried that Lavender Frappuccino this week, and I'm already dreading the day it inevitably leaves the menu. However, international Starbucks always has more exciting items, making the American options seem underwhelming. If they brought the crazy concoctions from around the globe here, it would probably be at the top of my list.
3. Gloria Jean's Coffee
I have such fond memories of Gloria Jean's. There was one at my local mall, and I'd always get their (essentially milkshake) chillers during middle school. They were so sweet in the best way possible. Plus, they had an endless amount of options. One day, it's Oreo. Then, mango. Then, red velvet!
2. Dunkin' Donuts
Dunkin' Donuts will forever be one of my favorites. Firstly, I love donuts, and I've been lucky to never have a stale donut from them. Beverage-wise, they have some of the most variable options for coffee lovers and haters alike. They also have arguably the cheapest prices on the list, and I'm always happy to save a few dollars.
1. The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf
Maybe it's because I'm new to The Coffee Bean, but it's currently my favorite franchise café. These drinks are so good that I might temporarily sacrifice my caffeine-free restrictions, and don't even get me started on their plethora of baked goods that are always fresh. The Strawberry Cake Pop always hits, and there's nothing better than their savory Jalapeño Cheddar Croissant.
