A Definitive Ranking of the Most Popular Buldak Noodle Flavors
If you've been on TikTok in the past few months, you've probably seen many people chowing down on Samyang buldak noodles. They're a Korean ramen brand known for being tasty but insanely spicy.
Most content creators are diving into the challenge of consuming their 2x and 3x heat flavors, but Samyang has a variety of equally delicious (and less spicy) offerings, including kimchi and habanero lime flavors.
We've been lucky enough to access a few of their most popular flavors. Below, check out our definitive ranking of all the ones we could find in our local market.
8. 2x Hot Chicken
We love spice, but the 2x Hot Chicken flavor is a different level of heat. It's the type of spice that will make your nose run and your body sweat. You might even start crying—we did.
In a way, it's fun to consume with your friends, but we would never eat this for enjoyment. You can barely taste its usually rich flavor, just pure burn.

7. Tom Yum
Some of us at Sweety High aren't into seafood, and Tom Yum has a strong shrimpy taste. Despite that, we do like its seasoned chicken and lime flavor. It probably would be great to have when you're feeling sick and need something to open up your nasal passage.
6. Quattro Cheese
Just like seafood, we're not the biggest fans of cheese. We like it in small doses, but four cheeses can be a bit much. That said, the spice balances some of that overpowering salty, umami flavor. We're also giving it extra points because the witch bird on the front is adorable.
5. Original
Aha, the original buldak flavor. We wouldn't recommend these for anyone who has a low spice tolerance, but it's the perfect level of heat when we feel daring. By the end of it, our stomach is on fire, so there's an inkling of regret when we finish eating.

4. Habanero Lime
Habanero Lime is not a flavor we would expect from Samyang, but it works so well. Since the brand prides itself on its spice, it pairs well with the tangy flavors of habanero peppers and limes. Even so, it's not as spicy as you'd expect—it's almost akin to a Taki, which we love.
3. Kimchi
Unsurprisingly, kimchi works well in these Korean-style noodles. If you've ever had it before, you know it has somewhat of an acquired taste, but when you add the chicken seasoning and spicy sauce packets, it gives it a complex umami flavor.
2. Rosé
We've only been able to find the Rosé in tteokbokki (rice cakes) and glass noodles, but they're so yummy we had to include the flavor on this list. Imagine if your favorite tomato-based pasta sauce became creamy and spicy. That's what Rosé tastes like, and we'd have it every day if it wasn't for the salt content of instant noodles.
1. Carbonara
Ah, yes. The good ole Carbonara noodles. Carbonara is a slightly sweet, slightly savory version of cheese that alleviates the intense heat of the buldak noodle. Of all their flavors, we'd say this one is the least spicy, which means we can eat the whole bowl without any issues. It's also got more robust notes of garlic, plus a creamy texture that makes it even more irresistible.
