That said, their range allows people to have strong opinions about their flavor, and we are no exception. Below, discover our definitive ranking of the most popular fruits.

10. Watermelon

We've been seeing a peak in watermelons over the past year. Is there something we're missing? Watermelons are one of the most bland fruits. It has water in its name, and that's exactly what it tastes like. Plus, we can't stand their strange, almost indescribable scent.

9. Strawberry

Surprisingly, we don't enjoy strawberries that much. But we can understand why people like them. They can enhance a variety of flavors, like matcha and vanilla, and they smell totally amazing. However, their flavor falls flat for us because they're a little too tart for our liking.

8. Banana

Bananas aren't terrible, but we have negative associations with them because of their overpowering flavor. If you're ordering a mixed fruit smoothie, forget everything else. The only thing you'll taste is the banana. And the flavor is too boring to be that strong.

7. Lemon

Do you know anyone who eats a straight lemon? We certainly don't. Although we enjoy the taste of lemon, especially in water, it's not one we can have in large consumption. That said, the small doses are yummy and work fabulously in both sweet and sour environments.

6. Cherry

Cherry is our No. 1 artificial flavor, so we expected it to be one of our favorite fruits, but no one prepared us for how bitter cherries are! That said, they are still one of the best fruits to put into a dessert or drink (like a Shirley Temple). We enjoy drinking their juice, too.

5. Pineapple

Pineapple is one of the few fruits we can eat by themselves. Unlike strawberries, pineapples have the perfect balance of sweet and tartness.

That said, we don't really like pineapples—except when they're by themselves. Unfortunately, we're not people who often eat fruit as often as we'd like.

4. Orange

Orange is a classic fruit, and it would almost be criminal not to include it near the top of our list. There is nothing more refreshing than an orange on a hot summer day. And ,as we all know, their juice is a must-have drink for breakfast. It loses points for its stringy texture, though.

3. Mango

One of our biggest shocks in life is that mangoes aren't more popular. To us, mangoes are one of the most flavorful fruits. It also taste great in any format, from juice to dessert. The only reason it doesn't rank at the top of our list is because we reserve its tropical flavor profile for summer.

2. Apple

Like oranges, apples are iconic, and they deserve their flowers. With so many different variations (from sweet to sour), everyone can find at least one they like. Their smooth texture is far from off-putting. A cool glass of apple juice can instantly heal the soul. Plus, what other fruit tastes even better when dipped in caramel?

1. Avocado

Avocados are one of those fruits that are so tasty we forget they're good for you. They are one of the best sources of healthy fats you can add to your diet. Aside from that, they just taste fantastic! You can eat them with no seasoning. But it tastes gets better with a little salt—or when it's made into guacamole. You can even drink this fruit as a smoothie, and it's delicious.
