A Definitive Ranking of the Most Popular Squishmallows

Squishmallows have pretty much rekindled everyone's childhood love of stuffed animals. And it's a good thing—everyone could use a healing hug from a super-soft plush in this day and age.

But it's not just Squishmallows' pillowy texture that makes them so appealing. The brand has offered collaborations that appeal to people of all ages, from Harry Potter to SEGA and Sanrio.

They have over 1,000 designs in total—but which ones are the best? Below, discover our definitive ranking of the most popular Squishmallows.

8. Avery the Mallard Duck

Well, Avery looks like what he is—a mallard duck! He's pretty much a standard Squishmallow with color blocking, which makes him a tad boring in our eyes. However, there are multiple editions of Avery, including one where he dons a hat and grows a mohawk. If either of those were the standard version, he'd probably rank higher on our list.

7. Anastasia the Axolotl

Anastasia is a pastel-colored Squishmallow designed after an axolotl. We love her curly smile—it's one of the features that make her unique. We just can't get down with her dorsal fins. The shiny material isn't our speed, and they look awkwardly placed.

6. Cam the Calico Cat

We don't have anything bad to say about Cam the Calico Cat. He's one of the original Squishmallows, so he has a special place in our hearts. On his own, he can also be plain, but there's something about him we can't resist.

5. Regina the Corgi

Regina the Corgi is very adorable, and we are living for her little tongue and pointy ears. There are definitely some more interesting Squishmallows, but she has some of the best special editions, like her Hershey collaboration and her Halloween 2022 spider costume.

4. Boba

We don't know why, but we've always been fans of food-themed plushies. Squishmallow came out with a line based on one of our favorite treats, boba. The stuffed animals are available in a variety of colors (to match your favorite flower), and we can't get enough of the flower accessories some of them sport.

3. Sanrio

At this point, who doesn't have an obsession with Sanrio? Squishmallows was smart to lean into their popularity with their Hello Kitty & Friends collaboration. The only thing that could make Hello Kitty and her squad more cute is transforming them into an iconic Squishmallow design.

2. Bigfoot

The Bigfoot set of Squishmallows is probably their most eccentric. Because of that, they're polarizing characters, and we're on the side in defense of them. Their tiny little legs (because what is Bigfoot without their feet?) and dead-pan smiles add so much character.

1. Wendy the Frog

We'll admit. We are very biased when it comes to the Wendy the Frog. She does fit into that simple category of the earlier Squishmallows but frogs, in general, are our favorite stuffed animals, so she has to be at the top of our list by default. Even so, we love how her eyes sit at the top of her head and her blushing smile.
