A Definitive Ranking of Every Chili’s Appetizer
There's nothing that a night out at Chili's can't fix, which is why we're so happy the casual dining spot is having a viral moment.
We've been going to Chili's for over a decade and have probably tried every item on the menu. Unsurprisingly, we have our opinions on the dishes. Instead of sharing our thoughts on everything, we'll keep it light with the starters.
Below, discover our definitive ranking of every item Chili's offers as an appetizer.
9. Southwestern Eggrolls
We know this might offend many, but we're ranking the Southwestern Eggrolls as the worst Chili's appetizer. Sorry, but it was the dish we never could get into. Beans ruin any dish for us, and unfortunately, we can't customize them to be served without it, so it looks like we'll never be able to enjoy them.
8. Fresh Guacamole
As a disclaimer, Chili's guacamole doesn't taste bad. It's your standard guac, which is enjoyable. However, our qualm is that there isn't anything special about it. We could probably get the same thing at our local grocery store, authentic Mexican restaurant or Chipotle for a cheaper price.

7. Texas Cheese Fries
Does anyone go to Chili's and order the Texas Cheese Fries? We've only ordered this item once to cross it off our restaurant bucket list. Like the guacamole, there wasn't anything wrong with it. It's exactly what it sounds like—dressed-up potatoes—but it's an unforgettable dish when Chili's has more memorable and distinct options.
6. Skillet White Queso
Chili's offers two types of queso: the queso with meat and the white queso. The White Skillet Queso reigns inferior. Compared to its counterpart (more on that later), the Skillet Queso is bland, and as spicy food lovers, we'd like our cheese sauce to have some kick.
5. Wings
Don't get us wrong—we enjoy Chili's wings. They have great texture and sauce options, including Nashville Hot, Mango Habanero and more, but we often order the Honey-Chipotle Chicken Crispers as our entree. Because of that, we don't find ourselves ordering the wings as an appetizer very often. But if you're going for something non-chicken as your main, we'd recommend trying the wings at least once.

4. Skillet Queso
Here it is: The Skillet Queso! Honestly, we think this might be the most underrated appetizer on the menu. By no means is it our must-have, but it has a delicious flavor, thanks to its zesty melted cheese and seasoned beef.
3. Fried Mozzarella
Good ole Fried Mozzarella. Of all the chain restaurants, Chili's has the best mozzarella sticks. They're thicker than most, and the breading has the right amount of crunch and flavor. But when we order them, we almost always need another appetizer to fill us up and give us the variety we crave! Is that really a bad thing, though?
2. Chips and Salsa
Did you even go to Chili's if you didn't order their Chips and Salsa? If you're a member of their rewards, you can get it for free with every order of at least $5, so why wouldn't you want to get it? The salsa is light and packs the perfect level of punch in every bite, and those chips are wonderfully salty.
1. Triple Dipper
Ding, ding, ding! You guessed it. The Triple Dipper is the reigning champion of Chili's Appetizers. First of all, it offers more options for your starter, like the Crispers and Big Mouth Bites, but let's be real—we all order the Triple Dipper as an entree. As people who need a lot of variety in their meals, it gives our taste buds plenty to play with the three dishes.
