Ariana Grande Performing in NBC’s Wicked Concert Is the Perfect Pre-Halloween Event
NBC is handing out Halloween treats already.
The network is broadcasting a Wicked tribute concert to celebrate the Broadway musical's 15th anniversary on Monday, Oct. 29, and it is such a great way to kick off the spooky holiday.
We're going to get to see huge stars take the stage, not least of which is the one and only Ariana Grande.
If you're a Broadway buff, you've likely heard of Wicked, but for the uninitiated, it's a musical about the witches of Oz from The Wizard of Oz. It starts before Dorothy ever landed there, and continues beyond her heel-clicking departure. The music is amazing, as we'll see when the concert airs.
Fittingly, Ariana is a fan. She saw the show and met original star Kristin Chenoweth backstage when she was "just a little girl" as Kristin told InStyle in 2016. Ariana has also continued to show her love since, like in a 2017 episode of Apple Music's Carpool Karaoke series. While riding along with Seth MacFarlane, Ariana sang show tunes, including from Wicked.
Ariana is just one of the NBC special's draws. Kristin and original Wicked co-star Idina Menzel will add their gorgeous voices as well, joined by the current Broadway company.
Pentatonix is also set to perform, and more artists will be announced as it gets closer. We're excited about that, but honestly, we're already sold on watching.
October needs to get here already.
