Aries (March 21 – April 19): Is Restlessly Productive

Aries define themselves by their interactions with other people, thriving when they are able to demonstrate their initiative and audacity. When they're alone, they don't get the chance to do that, making them totally restless. They're an active sign who dislikes standing still, so they keep themselves busy, though not necessarily by doing the things they'd like to be doing. They get burnt out quickly if they're too focused for too long and can't get the recognition that truly drives them.

 

Taurus (April 20 – May 20): Becomes Indulgent

Taurus is always willing to pamper and indulge themselves, but when they're alone, they become even more happy to give in to their every temptation. They have a strong desire to appear elegant and refined, but when there's no one around to impress, that can go out the window. When they're alone, they'll eat the most decadent foods and spend money they don't have, because no one is around to judge. Taurus loves this chance to treat themselves.

 

Gemini (May 21 – June 20): Counts Seconds Until Their Next Hangout

Gemini was not built for alone time. They're social creatures by nature, and they never feel at the top of their game when they have to be on their own. Loneliness makes them sluggish and tired, and they spend every moment agonizing the next time they'll be able to spend with their people—if they're not already aggressively texting everyone they know to coordinate an impromptu hangout.

 

Cancer (June 21 – July 22): Gets Super Emotional

Cancers are healthiest when they're with the people they love. They need emotional support from their friends, and when they're left alone with their feelings, they can get way too wrapped up in them. Though it can be cathartic to entirely give in to their emotions in short bursts, this shouldn't last too long. Too much alone time can put Cancer in a funk that will take a lot of time (and friendship) to recover from.

Leo (July 23 – Aug. 22):  Recharges

Just because Leo is independent doesn't mean they like being alone. Still, Leo is usually in control of how they react to any situation, and they won't let something like loneliness get them down. They know how to use time on their own to their advantage. Though Leos usually thrive on drama and constant attention, a small break from all of that can do them wonders, making them even more ready to take on the next big social event.

 

Virgo (Aug. 23 – Sep. 22): Craves Even More Alone Time

Virgo needs friends and companionship as much as any other zodiac sign, but when they get a taste of alone time, they wish they could spend most of their time on their own. This sign loves to be productive and soak up knowledge, and they're able to do this most efficiently without any distractions. However, this can result in Virgo getting totally wrapped up in their anxious, perfectionistic ways, which isn't always healthy. Virgo may even start to think that they're better off without anyone else.

 

Libra (Sep. 23 – Oct. 22): Can't Get Anything Done

Libra gets every ounce of their energy from the people they care about, and cutting them off from socialization is rarely a good idea. Alone time completely drains them, leaving them unmotivated to get anything done. Even the most important tasks will likely sit untouched when Libra isn't in the mood to complete them. Thankfully, the moment they're with people again, they'll immediately get back to normal.

 

Scorpio (Oct. 23 – Nov. 21): Discovers Themselves

Alone time is very important for Scorpio, who uses it as a time for self-reflection. Only when Scorpio is on their own can they remove their mask and actually figure out who they are on the inside. They don't like to depend on others too much, besides their very closest friends. This sign tends to keep to themselves and be full of mysteries, so this time is critical for them to develop and grow.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22 – Dec. 21): Craves Movement

Sagittarius can manage being on their own as long as they aren't also stuck in one place. They have an independent streak that means they're happy as long as they're on the go, and they won't ever feel lonely if they can follow their hearts and get moving. However, loneliness and restlessness will set in quickly if Sagittarius is at home on their own. A friend can be just as good for them as an adventure.

 

Capricorn (Dec. 22 – Jan. 19): Finishes Everything

Industrious Capricorns are good at being alone. It gives them a chance to check everything off their to-do list and fulfill all of their duties, with time to spare. But even if Capricorn can manage to complete everything they've been aiming to do, they won't slack off when they're done. They'll use quiet time to get started on the next big project, blowing everyone's expectations out of the water.

 

Aquarius (Jan. 20 – Feb. 18): Feels Totally Free

Aquarius dislikes commitment and obligation, and even though they enjoy the company of others, they relish in their alone time. To them, it means a chance to do their own thing, without needing to consider what other people want or need at any given time. They desire freedom above everything else, and few things make them feel freer than doing what they want, when they want.

 

Pisces (Feb. 19 – March 20): Dreams and Creates

Pisces is a dreamy and distractible sign, and they're not always super present, even when they're hanging out with people. Pisces is the most likely to behave exactly the same alone as they do when they're with others, spending a lot of time in their heads and thinking about the way things could be. They'll come up with stories, create art and write music when they're alone—but they might have done that with people around, anyway.
