1. Vine may be a thing of the past, but Alex is still obsessed. He says the one thing that never fails to make him smile is a good Vine compilation.

"As silly as it sounds, I have so many inside jokes with my friends and siblings from these videos, so when I need a good laugh that's where I go."

2. His most overused word is "wow."

"I'm a pretty curious kid in general, and I'm fascinated with life, so if anything is remotely impressive or interesting, you'll hear a "Wooooow, no way!" from me."

3. He looks up to some pretty unusual people. On a recent trip to Hawaii with the charity Karmagawa, his group included Brother Nature, who's best known for his hilarious deer videos on Twitter. Alex said he was the last celeb he got starstruck over.

"I've always been impressed with his positivity and good energy, so when I got to meet him I was pretty stoked about it."

4. Alex is a huge animal lover and has two precious pups at home, but he says his favorite animal has to be monkeys.

"Since my family is originally from South Africa, I get to see a lot of them when I travel back home and it never gets old."

5. He loves music and grew up playing the drums, but has always wanted to learn to play the piano.

"I'm a big music fan, but it was never a skill that I learned growing up. I feel like I could write some pretty sweet songs if I ever actually got the hang of it."

6. Alex says he's always been terrified by the idea of being a waiter. He claims to be far too clumsy to hold a bunch of plates and drinks without spilling it all.

7. He's a big movie buff, and loves action-comedies and horror in particular.

8. His weirdest habit involves having music on almost 24/7.

"I can't shower or sleep unless there's music playing. Listening to music helps me think, relax and unwind, so whenever I'm taking care of myself, I'm constantly playing something on my phone. It drives my mom crazy, but I can't help myself."

"I'm a pretty spiritual and emotional person, and I daydream more than I should, which I think is a Pisces thing!"

"I love a good rainy day, being able to cuddle up with someone you love, read a good book or just chill out. Rainy days make for the best days."
