Ali Brustofski Talks Awards And Girl Power Inspiration!
Ali Brustofski made a big splash when she was a finalist on The Next on the CW. She spoke with us recently about her rise to stardom and about what's next!
Ali Brustofski's voice and charisma have allowed her YouTube covers and original songs to gain her more than 200,000 subscribers on YouTube.
Her big break came when one of her covers was featured on ryanseacrest.com. The site has now featured many of her songs.
"I still can't believe I've been on his site multiple times now," she said. "It's really an honor that they like what I'm doing!"
She also has a second YouTube channel, Ali TV, where she shares vlogs, behind-the-scenes footage, and live performances. She hopes to soon post some beauty videos as well!
"Being creative is an amazing way to express yourself and find parts of yourself you never knew you had," Ali explained. "Whether it's music, art, or anything else creative – it's definitely an awesome way to have fun and be yourself!"
She said her biggest musical inspirations are Demi Lovato, Christina Aguilera, and Katy Perry. All amazing women who are all about girl power!
"Girl power means being able to be confident in yourself, and to believe that you can do anything if you work hard enough and believe in yourself!" Ali said.
Ali Brustofski started performing in musical theatre at the age of 8. She had always been a fan of plays, and thought it would be fun to try out.
Eventually, her tastes expanded and she embraced pop music. She started to write her own original songs when she was a freshman in high school.
"That was my real passion!" she said.
She wants to get performing onstage again soon to promote her new EP, "Dream Big" which is releasing soon. She raised money to create the album on Kickstarter! She said that the album features fun summer songs as well as cool ballads.
"I've found that if you believe in your dreams and work really hard to make them happen that you can make any dream come true!"
Ali recently won the NY Songwriters Circle "Young Artist Award."
"That was an amazing feeling," she said. "I had just started writing original songs and it was kind of the confirmation I needed to know I was making the right choice in doing my own music."
Ali isn't sure what the future holds for her quite yet, she said. "But I know I'll always work hard and dream big!"
