An Honest Review of Every Sol de Janeiro Fragrance

It might be the height of winter in the United States, but on the lower half of the planet, Brazil is celebrating the "Sun of January" with bright weather, juicy fruit and blissful evenings with friends. It's a time of year that embodies the culture so much that it inspired the well-known beauty brand Sol de Janeiro, whose name is a direct translation of the season.

If you know anything about the company, they are famous (especially on TikTok) for their tropical, summery fragrances. And honestly, we could use a little bit of that Brazilian sun. To take our minds away from this grim winter, we're transporting ourselves to our dream vacation by putting their body mists to the test. Keep scrolling to see how they measured up.

Cheirosa 40 Bom Dia Bright

We first discovered Bom Dia Bright while testing out their clarifying body wash. In addition to its clearing effect from its blend of AHAs and BHAs, it also had a delightful scent. To our noses, it was vibrant and fruity, almost a complete 180 from the usual gourmand that Sol de Janeiro offers.

After reading the notes, we are shocked that the product description calls it a "warm floral" with plum, musk, vanilla and jasmine. It doesn't have a warm fragrance to us at all. It's more like a spring scent.

Cheirosa 59 Delícia Drench

Cheirosa 59 is Sol de Janeiro's newest addition to the roster. With warm notes of velvet plum, sugared violet and amber, it's as if you bottled a blazing sunset into a bottle. It's more floral than the brand's other gourmand scents, which offers a refreshing twist.

You might recognize this purple bottle from viral stories claiming the scent attracts wolf spiders because of a pheromone ingredient. Thankfully, no hairy, eight-legged creature was found around this perfume.

Cheirosa 62

It's the classic Cheirosa 62. This perfume is gourmand to a T, blending pistachio, almond, salted caramel and vanilla. We wish we had a delectable dessert that smelled like this.

As good as it smells, it's not one we would want to use consistently. Gourmands are not really our thing. However, there's no doubt that this is a great body mist. It has over 5,000 reviews and basically a perfect five-star rating. It will change your life if you gravitate towards this fragrance family.

Cheirosa 68 Beija Flor

Spoiler alert! Cheirosa 68 Beija Flor is our favorite one. We can't resist fruity florals, and this one radiates happiness. According to the product description, it "invites you to a lush oasis by the sea," and we certainly agree.

This body mist combines dragonfruit and lychee with ocean air and hibiscus. It's an unbelievable heavenly scent that will have everyone turning heads when they walk past you.

Cheirosa 71

If you liked Cheirosa 62, you'll definitely enjoy Cheirosa 71, aka Brazilian Crush. 71 is a more mature version of 62 with less candied fragrances. Instead, caramelized vanilla mixes with sea salt and white chocolate, balanced by coconut blossom. It is gourmand, fresh, light and perfect for any season.

Rio Radiance

Are you craving a day at the beach? Rio Radiance can help. At the top of the fragrance, you'll smell sand and coconut. Then, it'll settle into a softer floral, thanks to its "solar" tuberose, ylang ylang and amber. It truly does smell like summer—almost to the point where it feels wrong to wear it in January.
