Etsy Creator OyasuMiki Turns Animal Crossing Characters Into Adorable Handcrafted Bags
OyasuMiki is one talented crafter—and the fact that she's been designing Animal Crossing handbags makes us love her work even more.
The creator, who sells her bags on Etsy, is from Portland, Oregon, and she hand-crafts each of her incredible pieces on her own. We pretty much want them all, but due to high demand, her commissions are currently closed and will reopen in Oct.
While we all wait for the end of the year and daydream about the adorable bags we'd love to commission, keep scrolling to check out all of the incredible Animal Crossing items she's made so far.
Isabelle
Isabelle is one of Animal Crossing's most beloved characters, and for good reason. Her loyalty and dutiful nature are unparalleled, and her positivity always keeps players working toward their biggest in-game dreams and goals. Plus, her head is shaped like a bag of Bells, and what could be better? We think the little jingle bell in Isabelle's hair is the perfect little detail and dearly wish we could have one of these bags ourselves.
Bob
Bob the cat is one of out all-time favorite villagers (making our most popular villager list), and we think this cute little bag perfectly captures the weirdness and humor of his lazy personality. The colors pop and make a strong statement even for those completely unfamiliar with Bob, and are sure to be a huge conversation starter for anyone who knows him well.
Maple
Whenever we get Maple in our villages, we absolutely refuse to let her go, and we're sure the proud owner of this bear cub bag will bring her everywhere with them. Maple's sweet and caring personality show through in her soft, kind features, and we think she's pretty impossible to resist.
Resetti
In the olden days, Resetti would come and yell at you if you forgot to save your Animal Crossing file before turning it off. Now that saving has become a little more sophisticated, Resetti has gotten a new in-game job of rescuing players and bringing them home if they somehow strand themselves. We don't actually get to see him anymore, which makes us appreciate this bag even more—even if it does bring back some scary memories for the O.G. fans.
Roscoe
Roscoe actually isn't a character we see discussed all that often, so we think it's extra cool that he's represented as a mini-bag. To us, he's proof that regardless of your style, there's an Animal Crossing character out there that best represents you. We think it's really special that everyone is someone's favorite—and Roscoe happens to be pretty adorable.
Purrl
Purrl's face reminds us a little bit of one of our favorite memes, and her sunny, bright disposition is totally infectious. How does this bag manage to capture what she's all about so well? Yes, it's flawless from the front, but check out the back to see the incredible detailing in the handle as well. We think Purrl would definitely approve.
Reese & Cyrus
In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, married alpaca couple Reese and Cyrus owned a recycling shop called Re-Tail that became even more important to the game than Nook's Cranny. While they don't perform the same function in New Horizons,we love that they're back this month for a wedding-themed event. We think it's particularly precious that this double-sided bag has Reese on one side and Cyrus on the other, so the duo are never apart.
Ketchup
Few Animal Crossing characters are as adorable and captivating as Ketchup the duck, who appears to have a giant tomato for a head. She's as positive and outgoing as her cute design suggests, and it's tough to see her without immediately feeling better. Whoever owns this Ketchup bag is a very lucky person indeed.
Beardo
We have to admit that Beardo has never been a villager that appealed to us much, but that's what makes it super special that someone wanted him enough to commission him. Beardo is just a bizarre character, but the attention to every detail shines through in this bag resembling his face.
Fossil
The fossils in Animal Crossing may have a simple design, but fans know that they hold endless potential and possibilities. Is this the torso of a Tyrannosaurus rex, the skull of an ancient human ancestor or the skeleton of the first vertebrate with limbs? We can't know for sure, but it does make for one extremely cute bag.
Marshal
Marshal took the No. 2 spot on our ranking of Animal Crossing's most popular characters, and you only have to meet him to understand why. It's no wonder that this creator felt compelled to turn him into a stylish bag—a convertible one, at that. We think that speaks strongly to Marshal's smug and sophisticated nature. He's worldly, and he needs the world to know it!
Daisy Mae
Daisy Mae is a new addition to New Horizons, selling turnips in place of her retired grandmother, Sow Joan. Not only have we made literal millions of Bells playing the Stalk Market thanks to Daisy Mae's services, but she's also very cute, making her Sunday morning appearances on our islands very welcome. The details here are stunning, but our favorite has to be the transparent dribble dangling from her nose that's aww-worthy and gross all at once.
Reneé
Reneé isn't one of the first characters that comes to mind when we think of cute Animal Crossing characters, but this incredible bag shows that's clearly a mistake. She's one of the uchi villagers, meaning she'll treat you like a teasing big sister, and her design reflects just how sassy she is. We're sure its owner isn't far off.
Brewster
While new fans to the Animal Crossing franchise may not yet know this coffee-brewing pigeon, we cross our fingers every day that he'll soon be joining the Animal Crossing: New Horizons roster. In past games, Brewster has owned a little café, acting as a barista (and dispenser of wisdom) to the town inhabitants. He's a fan-favorite that a lot of people are hoping to see return, and just seeing his face emblazoned on a bag makes us smile.
Filbert
Filbert is the most recent of OyasuMiki's bags, and the new learnings made with each and every additional piece really show in this one. She admitted she was concerned with matching up the seams of the head stripes, but she pulled them off masterfully here, really making Filbert's funnier features shine. He's the definition of a lazy villager, and we love the way this bag represents him.
Tom Nook
While a couple of different Tom Nook designs have sold in OyasuMiki's shop, we think the most recent one is a sight to behold. The three-dimensional design really makes Tom's big tanuki nose pop, and it seems like the absolute perfect place to hoard your Bell once you've paid off that big loan.
