ARTMS Embraces a Dynamic Music Style With Debut Album, Dall (Devine All Love & Live)

If you look up at the night sky, your eyes will land on one of the eight lunar phases. If you're lucky, you might even get to see a full moon. Such is the nature of the moon, waxing and waning, always going through changes. That's why it's no surprise that K-pop girl group ARTMS'  debut album is an 11-track musical odyssey with no two tracks sounding the same.

Named after the ancient Greek goddess of the moon, the girl group is on a mission to embody Artemis's mystique by showing various sides of their music. Shifting between different sounds like EDM, funk, and pop, <Dall> (Devine All Love & Live) is a celebration of their versatility and takes listeners on a journey of love, motivation and empowerment. It's a unique and exciting debut album that gives a taste of what the group has in store, but it's only the beginning of this new era for them. The girls are set to embark on their Moonshot World Tour later this summer, where they'll stop in 12 U.S. cities. To hear all the exciting details about <Dall> and their tour, we caught up with the group in the interview below.

Sweety High: Congratulations on your debut album! Can you explain more about the meaning of the album title, Devine All Love and Live

HeeJin: Is love a blessing or a gift or is it a corrupted emotion with a cruel side? This album captures all the dualities of love and life. That's why we wanted to twist the word from "Divine" to "Devine." This is possible because ARTMS is not just a first-year rookie group, but one that has risen above many wounds and adversities from our previous agency.

SH: You experimented with many different sounds on this album, from soft, airy pop to electronic dance beats. How was it creating an album with such a wide variety of songs?

Kim Lip: I believe that creating unbounded music using diverse styles is what makes ARTMS unique. Making each song was a great experience because they were fresh and out of the ordinary. I think our fans will find it hard to pick just one favorite song from this album.

SH: Are there any new sounds or genres you would like to try in the future?

JinSoul: I'd like to try making music that has the feel of an animated movie soundtrack. I also want to challenge myself with creating an emotional ballad that brings tears to your eyes.

SH: Can you share more about how "Virtual Angel" relates to the theme of the album?

HeeJin: Now that AI has become a reality, how far will its advancements take us? Do the stars beyond the screen truly exist? As we explained in the album, rather than providing an answer, we can imagine it within the song "Virtual Angel."

SH: You have such a unique group name being inspired by the Greek goddess Artemis. In what ways do you think Artemis is represented in your group or music?

Choerry: We aim to express the mystique of ARTMS by incorporating different genres and creating unparalleled atmospheres that have never been heard before. In this album, there are also songs with various charms, and in the future, we plan to showcase more music that makes ARTMS so unique.

HaSeul: As ARTMS, we are very excited to perform on stage together for the first time. With many songs, including solo and unit tracks, as well as the new album Dall, we hope you look forward to not only our performances but also our vocals and visuals!

SH: Is there anything else you would like to add?

Choerry: Thank you so much to all the OURII who have patiently waited for ARTMS. We will work hard to meet your expectations and make sure we meet you more often. We always love you and appreciate your constant support. We love you!
