Step Up Your Fitness Game With Bala Bangles
I love going on walks to the beach every week—if I could go every day, I totally would.
Lately, I've been looking for a way to step up my walks and burn more calories. And after doing a lot of research, I found that a lot of women use ankle weights to help. However, a lot of the weights I looked up were just not cute. So, when I got a surprise gift from Bala Bangles in the mail, I knew it was meant to be. Bala makes versatile ankle and wrist weights that are adorable. Plus, they're available in tons of colors. Keep scrolling to find out all about the company and my experience with their bangles.
The Brand
If you're a fan of Shark Tank, you might recognize Bala Bangles, who received $900,000 from the sharks. The brand is owned by husband and wife duo Natalie and Max, and their fitness equipment is vastly different than others on the market. Their products not only look good, but they're also functional and make people want to get their sweat on.
The Product
1 Pound Bala Bangles in Blush: $49
When I first opened up my Bala bangles, I was excited to put them on and get a workout going. Each weight comes in at one pound, and even though that doesn't sound like much, I knew it was going to have a great impact on my walk.
The bangles themselves are so much cuter than the typical ankle or wrist weights you'd find at the store. Featuring recycled stainless steel wrapped in ultra-soft silicone as well as super-strong velcro, these babies were made for everybody and every body.
I wrapped the bangles on my ankles and found that they were so much comfier than I expected. The velcro didn't irritate my skin and the band itself was rather soft. I walked around to get a feel for them and knew I was going to be sweating by the end of my fast-paced walk.
I decided to do a two-mile loop, popped in my AirPods, grabbed my water and got to walking! Right away I could feel the difference from a typical one of my walks with no weights. It gave me that extra push I needed and I knew I was burning more calories than usual.
I quickly started to feel tension in my hip flexors from the added weight, but the pain subsided after a few minutes. My body just needed to get used to the new additions! When I got back home from my walk I felt like I had gotten a thorough workout in. Since then, I've worn my Bala bangles on my ankles while on the Stairmaster and on my wrists while on the Peloton. I love how versatile they are and plan on using them for a long time to come!
Bottom Line
Overall, I'm so happy with my Bala bangles. If you're in the market for some new ankle or wrist weights, I couldn't recommend these enough. Even if you just want to step up your fitness game, these babies will get the job done. And while they are a bit on the pricier side, I personally think they're worth every penny.
