Everything You Should Know About Balloon Story, the Newest Pop-Up Soaring in NYC

Ever wanted to travel to New York, London, Paris and Egypt? Now you can, all in the same day—kind of.

Balloon Story is the latest pop-up to hit NYC, taking visitors on an adventure from high above the skies to low beneath the seas.

By the Numbers

More than 600,000 eco-friendly, biodegradable, inflated balloons make up the activations at Balloon Story. It took over 200 artists, led by art director Kobi Kalimian, to bring the exhibition to life. The gallery starts right at home in New York, with interactive and Instagrammable stations where you can get right up against the action.

Around the World

Balloon Party truly feels like a trip around the world. You can swing from the vines with monkeys in the jungle—but watch out for the roaring tiger. Or, try taking a dip in the ball pit river before heading on into the deep blue ocean with fish, turtles, a sharp-toothed shark, jellyfish and the largest octopus you've ever seen.

You don't have to pull out your passport for the monument room, which includes familiar sights including the Statue of Liberty, Eiffel Tower, a guarded Tower of London and Egyptian pyramids. Next, bundle up and hit the snowy North Pole to visit penguins and polar bears.

Admit One

The exhibit is open now through August 24 at the Park Avenue Armory. It's designed for all ages and is also wheelchair- and stroller-friendly. You can stop by Monday to Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. or Friday to Sunday until 7:30 p.m. Children under 4 are free, and you can snag your own ticket here.
