Bella Thorne Gives Us 4 Reasons You Need To Watch The DUFF
Bella Thorne is one of the stars of The Duff, an upcoming high school comedy that touches on the subject of cliques, high school hierarchy and bullying. She'll also be taking part in the Mean Stinks Biggest. Assembly. Ever. on February 4. We asked Bella all about the movie and why its message is so important to her.
On The Duff's script…
I loved how clever and funny the script was. The writing was very relatable in today's society. Although there is a huge aspect of bullying, the positive outweighed the negative.
On Mean Stinks…
Mean Stinks is an anti-bullying campaign and a message of spreading kindness. The film hit the topic of bullying head on and we also let the message be clear that bullying should not and will not be tolerated. It also points out that everyone gets bullied at some point.
On Mean Stinks' Biggest. Assembly. Ever…
You can expect to hear both stories about the negative impact bullying has and the positive stories that come afterwards. You will hear messages about bonding and how much easier it is for everyone to grow when they join together for a good cause.
On getting bullied…
I have been bullied my whole life both in school and now, on the internet. Beyond my physical attributes, I was and am picked on for being dyslexic. They funny part is that I read far ahead of my age/school grade now so their comments are irrelevant and it shows the ignorance of bullies. I actually just laugh when I see them making fun of me, and yet they aren't even spelling their evil messages correctly!
Advice…
I'd like to add that it is VERY important for everyone to drop the hate. Try and concentrate on the positive aspects in life. I promise you, you get a lot farther in life when your mind is in a positive place.
