How to Make the Best 2022 Vision Board Ever

Can you believe that 2022 is almost here?

2021 sure was a doozy and we can't wait to ring in the new year with our loved ones. With the holidays to look forward to, we should also start thinking about our goals for the next year. And our absolute favorite way to do that is with a vision board.

Vision boards are basically a collage of things that you aspire to one day have, whether it's relationships, affirmations, health goals, your biggest desires—honestly whatever is important to you. There's no wrong way to make a vision board, but if you need some help getting started, look below for how to make the best 2022 vision board ever.

1. Write a List of Things That Are Important to You

Instead of diving into the board right away, we suggest writing out a list of things that are important to you. For example, family, friends, relationships, school, work, fitness, health, money, religion, goals, fashion, beauty, leisure—there are tons of options to choose from. Depending on the size of your board, pick out a few that you really want to focus on and build from there.

2. Gather Up Some Old Magazines or Print Out Pictures

Next, gather up all the old magazines you can find. We suggest going to coffee shops or nail salons and asking if they have any you can buy for cheap. Or, you can go somewhere like Barnes and Noble and pick some up, but that can get pretty pricey. You can also just print out pictures and words from the internet or even create a digital vision board, but we suggest using that as your last option.

3. Cut Out What Catches Your Eye

Once you've got all your magazines, do a quick flip through them, cutting out what immediately catches your eye. Whether that's pictures, words or both is up to you! After you've done that, think of the different categories you want to focus on, and look for pictures and images that fall under them. We love the idea of cutting out individual letters to spell out each category then placing phrases or pictures under them.

4. Get a Board of Some Sort and Start Laying Out Everything

Now that you have a general idea of the content you're using, choose a board. Whether it's a corkboard or a plain old poster board, there are tons of options to choose from. We like a normal poster board so that pins and tacks don't take up too much space. This way, you can glue or tape everything down! Start to layout all your words and pictures to get a general feel of the layout you like. Then, secure everything in place!

5. Hang it in a Place You'll Look at Every Day

Once your vision board is complete, it's time to hang it up! Instead of sticking it in the back of your closet or a corner of a room you never visit, be sure to place it somewhere you will see it every day. After all, what's a vision board if you can't visualize it? Whether you place it over your desk, by your bed or even in your closet, as long as it's a place you know you'll often look at, you're good to go.
