The 6 Best K-Pop Tracks of February 2023

The second month of 2023 came and went in the blink of an eye, but not without the release of several amazing new K-pop tracks.

We had SHINee member Key deliver yet another magical solo release, as well as a release from one of our favorite underrated girl groups, PURPLE KISS. With this mix of old and new, February proved to be another powerful month for the K-pop genre. As we move into the spring season, we look forward to more killer songs, but until then, here are our top tracks of February 2023.

'Killer' by KEY

Giving Dua Lipa and The Weeknd '80s pop vibes, KEY returned with a "Killer" track last month. The vocals in the song showcase his versatility by channeling both a lower register and a higher, almost falsetto sound. His impressive voice is an added bonus to the song being a dance track meant for a disco club, and we would love to see more K-pop artists tackle this genre.

'Hidden Side' by HWANG MIN HYUN

Making his solo debut after previously being involved with NU'EST and Wanna One, Minhyun has exceeded our expectations with "Hidden Side." Not only did he release an R&B-infused banger, but he carried the whole song with heavenly vocals. The chorus is extremely catchy as well, which is why it's been on repeat since its release at the end of February.

'Sweet Juice' by PURPLE KISS

PURPLE KISS is a girl group that deserves so much more praise than it's getting,  and their newest comeback, "Sweet Juice," is one reason why. The vocal control and vibrato exhibited in their chorus is something we certainly don't see every day, and their laid-back rap also complements the song in the best way. Give us more PURPLE KISS—please and thank you.

'ROAR' by THE BOYZ

Talk about a sensual song. THE BOYZ have successfully handled every concept and genre they've tackled, and with "ROAR," the members' harmonization with one another is sheer perfection. That incredible bridge, right before the breakdown, is the cherry on top.

'MBTI' by JUST B and AleXa

It's not often that you see a full K-pop group collaborate with a K-pop soloist, but when you do, it's usually something magical. That rang true with JUST B and AleXa's collaboration on "MBTI," a truly catchy song with extreme pop and R&B vibes. We love this combo, and the voices of the members and AleXa go so well together that we're crossing our fingers it's not the last time these musicians cross paths.

'Fighting' by SEVENTEEN (BSS)

SEVENTEEN subunit BSS gave us an absolute bop with "Fighting" in February. The rap feature from Lee Young Ji simply kicks the upbeat track into second gear, and we can't help but smile when we listen. And if you're looking for the perfect workout song to get your heart pumping, we think this is it.
