If I Never Met You by Mhairi McFarlane

You're either obsessed with fake dating tropes or have a burning hatred for them. We're definitely in the first category, and Mhairi McFarlane's If I Never Met You might be the most endearing one we've ever read.

Laurie's life turns upside down after her boyfriend of almost two decades suddenly breaks up with her for a woman he was engaging in an emotional affair with. Enter Jamie Carter, her co-worker and office "casanova," who agrees to enter a fake relationship with her to look better for his promotion and to make her ex jealous. A Court Of Thorns And Roses by Sarah J. Maas

We're not the biggest fans of fantasy novels, but A Court of Thorns and Roses changed our perspective completely. She begins to grow fond of her new life (and maybe her captor) in this magical forest before she senses a looming threat and has to find a way to save the faeries from the darkness.
