Our Favorite Performances from OnlyOneOf’s 2024 World Tour

by Tayah Fox

This past week marked the thrilling start of the North American leg of  K-pop group OnlyOneOf's 2024 world tour.

We were fortunate to attend the group's second tour stop in Chicago on April 19, where we experienced firsthand their charming stage presence and the strong bond they share with their fans. The setlist consisted of their newest and greatest hits, and we'd like to highlight some of the standout performances that made the night unforgettable.

'gravity' and 'give me the lOve, bitxx'

Showcasing the newest editions to their catalog, OnlyOneOf performed a sequence of the smooth and easygoing tracks "gravity" and "give me the lOve, bitxx." Before diving into the sequence, the group took a moment to teach the crowd a piece of the choreography for "give me the lOve, bitxx," so everyone could join in on the fun. The group adopted a more relaxed approach while performing "gravity," casually strolling around the stage and greeting lyOns as they focused on their vocal delivery.

Solo Medley

This tour was a treat for the group's dedicated fanbase, lyOns, as they got to experience every member's solo work, as opposed to their previous tour, where each stop only experienced two solo performances per show. YooJung initiated the medley with his synth-pop solo, "begin," before passing the torch to KB, who showcased his groovy track "be free." YooJung returned to the stage as KB's dance partner for a fun dance break before JunJi took over the stage with his R&B-esque solo, "be mine." Rie continued the momentum with his upbeat pop track, "because," joined by JunJi for some fiery partnered choreography. They passed the baton to Mill and his hard-hitting rap track, "beat," where he tore the stage apart with his rapid dance moves. Their newly appointed leader, Nine, closed the medley with his mid-tempo pop track "beyOnd," featuring a dynamic duo choreography with Mill.

'libidO' (English Version)

As one of their post-popular songs, it was a given that "libidO" would be a part of the tour setlist. What we didn't expect was a performance of the English rendition of this track. As the group danced their way through their hit song, the crowd sang along to the Korean lyrics, confusing both the group and the crowd. OnlyOneOf then expressed how impressed they were with the crowd's memorization of the Korean lyrics, despite not being a crowd of Korean speakers. The group then instructed the crowd to sing the original version of "libidO" together. This moment beautifully demonstrated how music transcends language and brings people like lyOns and OnlyOneOf together, regardless of the language barrier.
