How to Stage the Perfect Bikini Photo Shoot From Home

Due to social distancing, looks like much of summer will be spent in the comfort of our backyard—which means we plan on getting creative with our warm weather pics. The Instagram summer staple? A bikini photo, of course. But with limited access to beaches and pools in the foreseeable future, it's time to get crafty.

A slow clap for the mirror shot, the unsung hero of quarantine content. As the start of summer nears, it's time to swap out those mirror selfies in our beloved sweats, for a different kind of suit—of the swim variety!

Ahead, we've got ideas on how to stage the perfect bikini photoshoot in the comfort and safety of your own home.

Bikini Spa Day

Whether you're doing a hair mask, a face mask or attempting to paint your nails, do it in style in a bikini. Obviously, a photo shoot must ensue to document your fabulousness.

Casual on the Couch

Nothing says cool girl like lounging on your couch, reading  a book, sporting your cutest suit. Think of this as more of a fashion moment than a bikini moment. A leopard one-piece is the purrfect choice, but can also be just as adorable in a two-piece.

Get Ready With Me in a Bikini

Do your skincare routine in style—in a bikini of course! Upgrade your bathroom selfie by wearing your fave two-piece.

Accessorize

A solid accessory ups your photo game by 1000%. Currently, we're loving these bespoke Candy Collection totes by Squeeze De Citron that make us feel like we're somewhere South of the Border (le sigh). You could also try a headscarf, a belt, even wrists stacked with bangles for a totally fresh twist.

Create a Backyard Picnic

Simulate your own vacation by grabbing a blanket or rug, some soft pillows, your fave snack and a good book in your backyard, front yard or patio. Stage your own mini oasis, and have your followers in awe of where you might be! Don't forget your SPF and self-timer so you can get a great shot.

'Bored in the House' (in a Bikini)

"Bored in the house and you're in the house bored?" If you're on TikTok, you get it. If you're going to be bored in the house, you might as well be in a bikini, right? Your bedroom or living room make a great backdrop.

Use the Ground as Your Background

Grab your fave suit—we're loving all things Indigo Swim right now—and a colorful drink, and lay down. No, for real, lay down and use the ground as a textured neutral backdrop. For a super effortless shot, add some cool sunnies and look away from the camera.
