Caramel Chocolate Chip Girl Scout Cookies Are Coming—and They’re Even Gluten-Free

Girl Scout cookie season comes but once a year, and it's a sad reality we faced every time we go to the grocery store and don't find a troop of sash-clad girls waiting for us with a rainbow of cookie boxes.

The months in between may be dark, but this year, there's a brighter light at the end of the tunnel: The Girl Scouts of the USA have just announced a brand-new cookie, Caramel Chocolate Chip.

It's a chewy delight that the organization says "features rich caramel, semi-sweet chocolate chips and a hint of sea salt."

The treat happens to be gluten-free, giving anyone with that particular dietary restriction another option from the cookie lineup. The other is the Toffee-tastic, which debuted in 2015 and will be for sale again during the upcoming cookie season. All in all, there are 12 varieties of Girl Scout cookies, and our taste buds always welcome more.

Girl Scout cookie sales go back over 100 years, so they are not only delicious but part of an American tradition. You see? We have to eat them. It's practically our patriotic duty.

Sales begin again in early 2019, depending on your local council, and options may vary depending on where you live. We'll wait as patiently as we can.
