SH: What components does castor oil have that make it great for hair? What benefits does each of those components give to hair?
SR: With a high concentration of ricinoleic acid, castor oil is extremely moisturizing and easily penetrates the hair and skin. Ricinoleic acid can also help calm irritation in the scalp. Castor oil is a natural humectant that can help maintain the moisture levels in hair and provide protection from hair styling as it seals the cuticle of the hair. It has also been known to stimulate circulation and promote healthier hair growth.
