Chase Yamauchi, AKA Mr. 6’4″, Talks Vine Stardom & Virality!

Chase Yamauchi, AKA Mr. 6'4″ is a web celeb who gained fame virtually overnight thanks to a viral Vine post about his exceptional height. We spoke with Chase to get the exclusive on his experiences as a Vine star!

It all began when Chase appeared in a brief video by fellow Viner, Vy Le. In the video, he mentions he's 6'4" and the folks around him react very positively to this news.

"After the initial 6'4" Vine, I received a lot of positive feedback from the social media people," Chase explained. "I decided to invest a lot of time into the most active social media websites consisting of Instagram, Vine and Twitter."

Since then, Chase has only become more and more popular, constantly gaining the support of more and more followers.

"A lot of them are very nice and positive people who request that I continue to expand on social media because they like what I have to offer," he said.

Chase's hilarious video posts are a commentary on the situations he faces.

"My inspiration comes from the simplicity of everyday life," he said.

To date, Chase's Vine has had more than 4 million loops! So what's the secret to his success?

"I think I have a very nice personable attitude that people like," Chase said. "I make sure that I am real with everyone I meet so that they can get a grasp of who I really am. I never expected to become this popular online but it is a real blessing that I find myself in this position"

He urged other future Vine stars to also be as true to themselves as they can.

"To aspiring Viners, don't try to make Vines that get away from your personality," he said. "Your most successful Vines will be the ones you connect with best while creating."

Most recently, Chase has been funneling his creative energy into the success of his Instagram account. 

"[I'm] Trying to add creative and fun photos that people will enjoy seeing on their Instagram home pages," he said.

Last but not least, he had a few words to the people who have helped him get this far!

"I would like to thank all of my fans for being so supportive and let them know that there are some big things coming in 2015 for me, so I would love it if they continue to support me," he said. "I love them all."
