8 Questions I Have After Watching Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Part 2

A couple weeks ago, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina returned to the small screen.

When we last left our teen witch in Season 1, she was officially a member of the Dark Lord's tribe. This season, things took a pretty dark turn as Sabrina descended further and further down the Path of Night in every episode.

Thrilling as it was to watch Sabrina's witchy ways, I finished the final episode with a few uncertainties. Keep scrolling for eight questions I have after watching Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Part 2 (Spoilers ahead!!).

1. How is Sabrina totally cool with Harvey and Ros?

We witness quite a few relationship change-ups this season. Not only does Sabrina predictably get together with warlock Nick Scratch, Harvey also starts dating Sabrina's best friend, Ros. Although it's cleared that Sabrina is a little miffed by their relationship at the start, she always maintains that she wants them to be together. By the end of the season, Sabrina is enlisting her mortal friends to help her get Nick back, which involves a lot of time facing her ex-boyfriend who is now dating her best friend. And yet, she seems totally fine with it.

To which I have to say, really? Sabrina was in love with Harvey, is she actually okay with this new relationship after such a short time? Truthfully, I'm not. Harvey and Ros dating is weird. Even if Sabrina wants both people she cares about to be happy, she has to feel a tiny bit of jealousy. A storyline for another season, perhaps?

2. Is Father Blackwood okay?

I ask this without an ounce of genuine concern. Seriously, what happened to Father Blackwood this season? He went completely off the rails. In Part 1, he's shown as a a devoted, if power hungry, servant of the Dark Lord. In Part 2, it's obvious that his own rise to power trumps anything and anyone. However, he does seem to take it to the extreme. The Dark Lord appears to him—an entity he's sworn to serve and seems to genuinely believe in—and he barely blinks. Then, when he's not told exactly what he wants to hear, he poisons his coven and runs away. It all seems deeply melodramatic and slightly out of character from the fairly grounded High Priest we experienced in Part 1. I don't really care what happens to him, but I am totally fascinated by his abrupt shift in behavior.

3. Are we just going to forgive Nick?

I'm still a little torn on whether I prefer Nick or Harvey as Sabrina's ultimate love. Truthfully, I was leaning towards Nick… until we found out that he was primarily hanging out with her in service to the Dark Lord. He addresses it with Sabrina and tells her that he genuinely fell for her not long after, but still—he deceived her and helped Satan further his plans. Despite that one apology though, he's apparently forgiven? I suppose he also sacrifices himself to stop the Dark Lord, but I just don't know how I feel about it. It's a big betrayal. I'm not sure if a "but I've always liked you" is enough to fix it.

4.Will Lilith keep Ms. Wardwell's body?

For the past two seasons, we've seen Lilith, the Mother of Demons, prance around and carefully ruin Sabrina's life by inhabiting Mary Wardwell's body, a teacher at Sabrina's school. But at the end of Season 2, Lilith descends to rule Hell and sends the real Ms. Wardwell back to Sabrina as a gift. It would seem to suggest that Lilith has regained her real form, so how will we see her in the next season? Will Michelle Gomez be replaced by another actress? We've grown so accustomed to the Mother of Demons' sassy ways, so it might be odd to see her in another form. Still, I'm not opposed to change. It might be interesting to see Lilith as she really is.

5. How do the witches feel about the Dark Lord?

I'm so confused about this Dark Lord worship stuff. Supposedly, the witches are totally committed to serving Satan, so how are they going to react when they find out the entity they've dedicated their entire lives to serving is now trapped in the body of a teenage boy? Despite their supposed devotion, no one seems all that stoked when the Dark Lord actually shows up, so maybe they'll be okay with it? But even if the Greendale coven gets on board with Sabrina's rebellion, what will the rest of the witches around the world do? Are we going to see another uprising as everyone tries to get the Dark Lord back?

6. Which powers does Sabrina have?

At the end of Part 2, Lilith restores Sabrina's witch powers, formally making her a half-witch, half-mortal once again. However, we're not told if she has regular ol' witch powers or the insane witchy powers that developed when she found out she was the Herald of Hell. Personally, I'd bet that it's just normal powers. Lilith doesn't need that kind of competition. Still, it would be interesting if she was restored her full powers, making her a force to be reckoned with on and beyond Earth.

7. Can Zelda just, like, be High Priestess?

When Blackwood runs away and Hilda murders the head of the council, Zelda decides that she's going to take over the position of High Priestess and the head of The Academy of Unseen Arts. But, can she just like, do that? She just waltzes in and claims a title? There are still other council members, as well as other members of the coven that might have something to say about that. And if she does just claim the title, why didn't everyone before her do that, as well? It's a very Zelda-move, but it'll be interesting to see whether her power is challenged in Part 3.

8. Why is Satan so hot?

Sorry, it simply has to be addressed. The Dark Lord in his true form is a snack. We totally understand why Lilith fell for him way back when. We understand less why she stuck it out for so long, but that's beside the point. Lucifer is good-looking. Maybe that was to be expected, since he's technically an angel, but we were not prepared. Remember that he's super evil and terrible, y'all. Because it's truly hard to think of anything but how hot he is when he's onscreen.
