Cocokind Is the Clean Beauty Brand You Absolutely Want in Your Daily Skincare Routine

When it comes to what I put on my face every day, I've always been a bit of a minimalist.

I haven't worn a spot of makeup in over two years, and my typical morning and night routine consists of just a toner and moisturizer on my face. I usually don't even use a cleanser. But that doesn't mean I'm not open to trying things. I like having an extended skincare routine—it just takes the right great products to inspire me to stick to it.

I'd heard good things about cocokind before, but had never had the chance to try their products. The women-run business is all about clean beauty, offering products that are free of all toxins, fillers, artificial colors, artificial fragrances, parabens, phthalates, mineral oils and sulfates. They're also cruelty-free and vegan, and come in recyclable containers.

So when a rep asked me if I'd be interested in trying out the brand, I happily decided to give them a go. They also have two brand new products, a Scrubbing Clay and Matcha Face Moisturizer, launching today, Oct. 27, and I have to say my mornings and nights haven't been quite the same since introducing cocokind to my life.

MyMatcha All Over Moisture Stick: $9

With temperatures in my area dropping to the mid-30°s in the last week, dry lip season is fully upon me. The combination of chilly weather, as well as heaters turned up high, has left my lips getting way more chapped than usual, and the MyMatcha All Over Moisture Stick really arrived just in time to combat it. This stick, made up only of coconut oil, beeswax, camellia sinensis leaf powder and organic matcha tea powder, truly packs a punch when it comes to soothing dryness and keeping the moisture in. It's become my go-to lip balm, but also doubles for softening dry hands. Not that I'm going anywhere, but the portability is also a huge plus—as is the fact that it smells like pure sweet coconut.

Daily SPF: $24

I always like to use a daily facial sunscreen lotion, but I often find that it's tough to find good options. For the last couple of years, I've actually been using a men's daily SPF face lotion, just because it was what I could find at the drugstore. Upgrading wasn't a priority, but it should have been, and I've found the perfect replacement in cocokind's Daily SPF. Not only does it go on super smooth (without gross white streaks) and make my skin feel great, but it's a broad spectrum SPF 32 sunscreen, which is much better than the SPF 15 I'd been using. It's designed to protect against UVA, UVB and blue light, which is good because even though I don't spend a ton of time outside—and it's usually cloudy when I do—I do spend a lot of time in front of screens. Plus, its active ingredient is zinc oxide, known to be the safest and most effective sunscreen ingredient.

Revitalizing Eye Cream: $18

Before trying cocokind's Revitalizing Eye Cream, I'd never used an eye cream in my life. While I totally do have bags under my eyes, I've just never thought twice about them, and the glasses I wear tend to mostly hide them, anyway. However, cocokind has me hooked. Their eye cream uses hibiscus flower acid to prevent moisture loss, keeping the eye area hydrated all day long, and since using it, I've noticed a huge difference. The bags under my eyes are brighter and less puffy. In fact, they're barely bags at all.

Rosewater Toner: $17

I've always loved a good face mist, and cocokind's Rosewater Toner has quickly fallen into a rotation with my other favorites. I like misting my face right after I get out of my morning shower, and this single-ingredient damascena flower water product tones and hydrates without feeling harsh. It also has an invigorating fresh and almost fruity rose scent, which is great for pepping up in the morning or winding down at night.

Oil to Milk Cleanser: $18

As I mentioned, I typically don't use any products to wash my face. Usually, I can keep my skin acne-free by simply washing it with water, and in the past, introducing new types of face washes have tended to make me break out, so I was a little wary of the Oil to Milk Cleanser, at first. I was thankful I didn't have to be, because it is so gentle. It's not exfoliating or sudsy, with the prebiotic oat-based cleanser turning milky white when the water touches it for a delicate cleanse. It simply leaves my face feeling soft and clean without ever drying it out, and while I don't use it daily, it's become a biweekly part of my regular routine.

Scrubbing Clay: $16

While my face tends to react to exfoliation, I love a good scrub for the rest of my body, and that's exactly what cocokind's Scrubbing Clay offers. Using a combination of prebiotic clay and upcycled coffee beans, I can feel it scrubbing off all my dead skin without being too rough or abrasive, leaving it feeling clean as well as moisturized. And because of its strong coffee scent, it's perfect for morning showers, with the fragrance sure to immediately perk you up. While I know you're only supposed to exfoliate a couple of times a week, I'm going to have to use all my willpower to resist recreating the luxurious experience and doing this on the daily

Matcha Face Moisturizer: $18

While I like to moisturize with an SPF in the mornings, I also needed a nighttime moisturizer, and cocokind's Matcha Face Moisturizer fit that niche perfectly. While its bright green color might make it look like a mask (and you might at first feel like there's no way its vibrant green color will dissipate) this face lotion actually blends in perfectly into the skin in time, leaving it ultra-hydrated. It also has restorative ingredients, including green tea wax and pomegranate seed oil, and it'll leave you smelling like grassy, relaxing matcha.
