Covergirl’s New Clean Fresh Foundation Is My Latest Drugstore Fave

When Covergirl invited me to the launch party for their clean beauty line, Clean Fresh, it was a no-brainer that I attended.

Held at the picturesque Rolling Greens nursery in Downtown Los Angeles, guests were treated to a day of complimentary makeup, healthy nibbles from Schaffer catering, plenty of photo opps and a DIY succulent decorating table. The event even featured an appearance by the face of the line, Lili Reinhart.

While I looked forward to trying all four of the products (there's a foundation, cooling glow stick, cream blush and tinted lip oil), it was the Skin Milk nourishing foundation that piqued my interest most. Coming in 14 shades, I grabbed the medium and gave it a go.

The Product

Boasting a dewy finish, and lack of parabens, formaldehyde, phtalates, sulfates and fragrance, the product claims to blur imperfections, even out skin tone, provide sheer, buildable coverage and instant, all-day hydration.

It comes in a cute, baby pink-colored 30 mL tube, and costs $9.99 at Rite Aid.

The Experience

As soon as I grabbed my shade, I tested it on my arm, and was immediately taken by the glow it provided. I also noticed that as promised, it blurred imperfections.

When I got home, I gave it a full go prior to hitting the gym. Pretty much since the beginning of college, I've never really used drugstore makeup outside of the occasional mascara. I've newly become a NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation loyalist, so the bar is set pretty high when it comes to foundation.

When I applied Skin Milk, I was immediately blown away. The coverage was solid, yet still natural looking. I added a few Shape Tape concealer drops for added cover-up, but overall my face was solely Covergirl. I immediately snapped a pic for my IG Story, and the response was all positive. I made my way to the gym, feeling hydrated and not like I was wearing any makeup.

Bottom Line

I'm really impressed with this foundation. After my successful experience, I came to work the next day with a tube for my coworker, and told her it's definitely worth trying. I threw a tube into my workbag and my gym bag, and will absolutely apply as either an on-the-go touchup, or a look before I work out.
