8 Cozy Ideas for a Winter Date Night

Winter is just around the corner, and there's nothing like a cozy winter date night.

1. Make Dinner Together

This is a classic couples' night in. If you always are going out on dates, switch it up and try making a new recipe together at home. It's a super easy way to bond with your significant other and allows you guys to work as a team. In the end you get a delicious meal for two, as well as some quality time together.

2. Order in and Watch a Movie

If you are feeling extra snuggly, order some take in and watch one of your favorite movies. This may not be the most original idea, but, there's a reason it's a tried-and-true classic. If the weather isn't looking promising, Chinese food and a movie always go great together, no extra work required.

 

3. Go Ice Skating and Then Get Hot Chocolate to Warm Up

If you're feeling spontaneous this winter season, go ice skating with your partner. This is a perfect date to bond over how clumsy you both are—or if one of you happens to be an excellent skater, it's a perfect date idea for one of you to coach the other. This date will be filled with good memories, hard falls and even harder laughs. But don't just stop there. Make sure to warm yourselves up with a hot cup of hot cocoa afterward, so you and your partner can talk about all the best moments of the night.

If you and your partner are competitive as well as creative, making gingerbread houses is a perfect holiday date. This could work for just the two of you, or for a double date with your best couple friends. Playing on teams always makes for a fun yet competitive date night. Not only is this a craft date, but it's also unique to the season.

5. Pizza and Board Games

Who doesn't love pizza? You can opt to make a homemade pizza with your partner, but we won't judge if you just order Domino's. After all, the most important part is that you enjoy it. Once you've decided whether you'll have homemade pizza or order in, it's time to choose the board game to play—or, if you're feeling up to it, the several board games you'll be playing. This is another classic date night we'll never get tired of.

 

6. Check Out Holiday Lights

Since it's that time of the year, make sure you don't miss out on the epic local holiday decorations. Grabbing some coffee and driving through neighborhoods famous for their light shows makes for a very festive holiday date night. Why not take a scenic cruise through the neighborhood to admire all the hard work on display?

If you're are feeling extra artsy, consider doing a painting day. Best of all, you can do one just about anywhere. If it's a beautiful day, you and your partner could head to a park and make a picnic and paint, or if it's a rainy day, try the TikTok challenge that has you and your partner paint on canvas totes and switch every five minutes for a creative and unique bag. There are endless possibilities to be crafty with your partner.

 

8. Go Sledding and Make a Snowman

If you're lucky enough to live somewhere it snows, go outside and enjoy the winter wonderland. Simply building a snowman can bring joy to your date, but if you're feeling extra active, grab a sled and find a hill to slide down again and again to stay busy for hours.
