CRAVITY Are in a Universe of Their Own With Latest Release FIND THE ORBIT
Like a beacon of light in the night sky, K-pop boy group CRAVITY shines bright like a planet. Just like any celestial body, the nine members have an almost magnetic energy that draws you into their orbit. Whether it's their mesmerizing performances or enchanting voices, the group has an enchanging quality that makes it hard to pull your eyes away. Perhaps that's why it seems so fitting that their latest release is titled FIND THE ORBIT.
After winning first place on the program Road to Kingdom: ACE OF ACE and being featured in Apple TV+ series K-Pop Idols, CRAVITY is more eager than ever to show audiences who CRAVITY truly is, which is where FIND THE ORBIT takes center stage. Consisting of three songs, "Now or Never," "Secret" and "Horizon," the single album explores topics of being fearless throughout life, holding a secret love close to your heart and optimism. Complete with songs co-written by group members, their latest project is a short but powerful display of CRAVITY's growth as artists and their unyielding determination in their journey as idols. In order to hear all the exciting details about the album, we caught up with CRAVITY to talk all things Road to Kingdom, FIND THE ORBIT and more.
Sweety High: Congratulations on your recent win on Road to Kingdom: ACE OF ACE! What was the experience competing on the show like?
Allen: It was a good learning experience. We've definitely grown a lot as people and as artists. We're just glad to be able to show, not just to fans but the general public, who we are and what we're capable of. It was such a valuable and precious experience for us. We're so glad that we had the chance to participate in such a program.

SH: Can you explain more about the meaning behind the name FIND THE ORBIT?
Allen: Before we started Road to Kingdom, we released the intro film THIS IS MY ASTEROID and previously released a song "VENI VIDI VICI." That's where all the space themes started. We each have our own "asteroid" and are looking to find our orbit. Basically, through the journey we've been through on Road to Kingdom, we as CRAVITY were able to find our color and solidify our identity so we want to break away from the ordinary, the past us. We want to find a new orbit where we'll be able to go and write a new history and reach higher ground.

SH: What message do you hope fans take away from "Now or Never?"
Allen: In the lyrics of "Now or Never," there are messages along the lines of "there's no time for hesitation," "right now is the only chance" and "carpe diem" so it's very straight up. We want our listeners to seize every opportunity, not be afraid to try new challenges and strive for their dreams and goals in life because it's now or never.
Taeyoung: Time is precious!
SH: "Horizon" has a very uplifting vibe. What inspired the song and that theme?
Allen: Woobin wrote the song "Horizon" and he got inspiration from the whole process of our journey on the program Road to Kingdom. If you really pay attention to the lyrics, you can tie in some of the motifs. It'll be really fun and interesting for our fans to break apart and analyze it.
Woobin: To explain the song, we're talking about our journey and our story. For people who are listening, we hope that they will also feel as if they're on the same journey that we're on.

SH: Did you write the song during filming or after when you had experienced everything?
Woobin: I had the song written before the show started but I couldn't find the right theme and lyrics. As we progressed throughout the program, I got the inspiration to finish the song.

SH: It's been a big year for CRAVITY. You were featured on the Apple TV+ series K-Pop Idols and you just won Road to Kingdom. What do you hope to accomplish next?
Allen: We just want to repay all the love and support we gained from our fans, LUVITY. We still have a lot of dreams and goals that we want to accomplish and we really just want to reach out and see our LUVITY wherever they are around the world. We hope to perform at bigger venues and maybe attend some more award shows just to make LUVITY proud. We're not stopping any time soon.
SH: Is there anything else you would like to add?
Allen: Thank you to our fans LUVITY so much. Without you guys, we wouldn't be able to reach this far in our careers. It's all thanks to you guys that we're able to really achieve so many achievements and to still be a group promoting and continuously releasing new songs and albums, so thank you guys so much. We love you.
