David Archuleta Shocks His Fans With Tragic News!

While winter break is in full swing, that's not the break David Archuleta was talking about when he announced he wants a break from his music career!

While performing a show in his hometown of Salt Lake City, Utah on Monday, he revealed that he plans to take a two-year break from making music.

Although the audience was shocked, they cheered right back up when David reassured them he would definitely return to music when he gets back.

The 20 year old singer first stepped into the lime light in 2008, as one of the front runners in the seventh season American Idol singing competition.

His two year Mormon Missionary may come as a shock, but David announced to his fans that "It's not because someone told me that I was supposed to do it, not because I no longer want to do music anymore, but it's because it's the feeling that I felt that I need to do next in my life."

We wish David luck on his journey and can't wait to hear what the singer/songwriter has in store for us when he gets back!
