We Tested Out David Dobrik’s New Perfume Line, David’s Perfume, Just for You
David Dobrik is many things, and a successful entrepreneur is undoubtedly at the top of that list.
The popular YouTuber has finally ventured into the beauty world, making people everywhere melt into a puddle on the floor. As a 26-year-old woman who loves all things beauty, I jumped at the chance to try out his latest venture, David's Perfume. I was offered both of his signature, unisex scents, and boy do I have a lot to say about them. Are they worth all the hype? Keep reading for my review of David Dobrik's new perfume line, David's Perfume.
The Brand
As of right now, David's Perfume is offering two signature scents, named #01 and #02. I'm thinking this means there are more to come, but only time will tell. The products themselves are exclusively available on the site, launched with some help from Flower Shop Perfume's Co.
Already, the brand has a large social media following, which is constantly growing. But tbh, I'm not at all surprised, because it seems like anything David Dobrik touches turns to gold.
The Products
David's Perfume #01 Amber & Cashmere: $60
When testing out new perfumes, I love spraying the nape of my neck, my wrist and a piece of paper, for good measure. I've worn #01 a few times at this point, and as I sit here at my desk with the fragrance on my left wrist, I'm reminded of just how sensual this scent is.
If you're on the hunt for a date night scent, this is the perfect option. With woody notes and subtle spices taking up a majority of the amber and cashmere perfume, your date won't be able to keep their hands off you. Even my boyfriend liked this scent, and he is one of the pickiest people there is when it comes to fragrances.
I think #01 is supposed to be viewed as the more "sexy" option, given its sleek black bottle and classic overall look. While I personally wouldn't wear this as a daily perfume, I do love the idea of wearing this for special occasions or a night out with friends.
David's Perfume #02 Grapefruit & Sandalwood: $60
#02, while technically unisex, definitely leans on the more feminine side. I tried out this scent a few times as well, and was constantly greeted with a fruity, light fragrance. I'm currently wearing this on my right wrist, and it's a reminder that this is a scent I'd wear daily.
It's not overpowering or harsh, but it is bold, in the best possible way. Featuring notes of juicy grapefruit, amber and sandalwood, this perfume is both fruity and woody—a combination I personally love. The aromatic and overall lovely scent of #02 is one people close to you will notice and likely ask about. After all, who doesn't want to be asked why you smell so good?
This is not only a great purchase for yourself, but it's also a good gift idea that could earn you major brownie points.
Bottom Line
All in all, I think David Dobrik killed it with David's Perfume. If you're on the fence about adding another fragrance to your growing arsenal of perfumes, I'd say this is definitely worth it. At an affordable price and in stunning packaging, either perfume will look stunning on your beauty counter.
