Definitive Ranking of All 17 Flavors of Still Hint Water
There are plenty of flavored waters on the market, and Hint happens to be one of our faves.
Their still waters provide just the "hint" of tasty flavor, without the carbonation, sugar, aspartame or artificial flavoring that so many other waters include. Plop any of these bad boys in the fridge, and you've got yourself the ideal refreshing beverage.
While there's no flavor we advise against, there are certainly some we prefer more than others.
Keep reading for our definitive ranking of all 17 flavors of still Hint water.
17. Peppermint
Peppermint in the form of candy, wonderful. Peppermint in our hot chocolate, even better. Peppermint as a flavor of water? Eh, not so much. While we certainly give Hint props for thinking outside of the box, we just can't entirely get behind this one.
16. Pear
While we're sure some people would disagree with this ranking, we've gotta stand by it because we're simply just not fans of pear. Don't get us wrong, the water is far tastier than the actual fruit (in our humble opinion), but pear is pear and it just rubs us the wrong way.
15. Cherry
Much like grape (which isn't actually on Hint's roster), cherry is quite the polarizing flavor. You either love it or you hate it. And while we're actually huge fans of cherries as a whole, anything cherry-flavored automatically reminds us of cough syrup—though this water is far less intrusive and quite tastier. It's not that this is horrible, but there are so many options that are better.
14. Lime
In general, we'd say lime ranks pretty high when it comes to water flavors (namely sparkling), but given the array of fun options Hint water has, lime just comes off as boring. And again, when it's not in sparkling form, it just doesn't do it for us the same way.
13. Pineapple
Pineapple isn't bad, per se, but it's kind of just there. It's definitely not Hint's standout flavor, but you're by no means going to spit out your drink. (Their pineapple sunscreen, however, is an absolute fave! It gives us sweet, summer vibes all year 'round.)
12. Crisp Apple
Much like the aforementioned pineapple, crisp apple is a pretty basic flavor. While certainly not bad, it's nothing to write home about.
11. Strawberry-Kiwi
The idea of strawberry-kiwi sounds like a refreshing delight. And while it is indeed tasty, it's also a bit sweet—a bit more than we typically prefer. But if that's your thing, then, by all means, chug away!
10. Pomegranate
While we think pomegranate is the perfect addition to salads and particular dinner dishes, it's slightly too sour as a standalone water flavor. It's a fine option, it just isn't as memorable of a selection for us.
9. Mango
TBH, mango isn't our fave fruit. It has a bit of a funky taste that we can't quite describe, and it's far from our go-to in the produce section. That said, Hint's mango flavor—a new selection on the company's flavor roster—provides just enough flavorful pop without overwhelming us the way the actual fruit does. For a solid, refreshing gulp, mango surely does the trick.
8. Raspberry
Raspberries are absolutely delicious, and much like the fruit itself, the flavored water delivers. Our only qualm is the flavor is a little too light, but overall, this is a solid option.
7. Blood Orange
Generally speaking, blood orange packs some serious punch as a fruit. But, surprisingly, the water isn't as flavorful as one would expect. It's still just as tasty, so it definitely ranks high—but there are a few on the list that have a bit more oomph.
6. Cucumber
Cucumber is a classic, refreshing water "accessory," as we like to call it. When you soak real cucumbers in water, the result is identical to what you get from Hint's cucumber flavor, and we love it. The only thing that could move this a few notches up? If lime, mint or both were added to the mix. Cucumber still does fine on its own.
5. Blackberry
Albeit slightly sour, blackberry is a solid bet. Blackberries (the fruit) pack a lot of flavor, and the same goes for their Hint incarnation. The remaining flavors on the list are slightly more refreshing, but we'll never complain about this one.
4. Mango-Grapefruit
While mango places somewhere in the middle of the list, mango-grapefruit, on the other hand, snags the No. 4 slot. Not only is the combination a unique one, but it marries a sweet flavor with a sour one. Though the outside-of-the-box concoction took our taste buds a few sips to warm up to, halfway through one bottle, we were hooked!
3. Peach
You really can't go wrong with peach, amirite? It's a fruit you'll eat year 'round, and a scent you want to be spritzed all over you, no matter the occasion. So it only makes sense that you probably want to drink it, too. Hint's peach flavor needs no accompaniment as it tastes just right as is.
2. Watermelon
It was a tough call between No. 2 and No. 1, but, ultimately, watermelon snagged the runner-up spot. Refreshing and every bit delicious, you really can't go wrong with anything watermelon-based. When it came down to it, we chose our No. 1 selection based on how rare it is to find a drink dedicated to this delicious fruit. Had watermelon been a little less easy to come by, it just may have won!
1. Honeydew
Ah, and for the grand finale, we bring you… honeydew! This flavor has the perfect amount of sweetness without turning off someone who doesn't have a sweet tooth. It's also incredibly refreshing (drink it chilled, for sure). And with these summer months rapidly approaching, we have a feeling this flavor will accompany all your pool parties.
