Descendants To Tell Tale Of Disney Villain’s Kids!

A new Disney Channel Original Movie called Descendants, featuring the teenage children of iconic Disney villains, is going into production next year!

The live-action film will feature the offspring of villains Cruella De Vil, Maleficent, the Evil Queen and Jafar, named Carlos, Mal, Evvie and Jay respectively.

It was also recently announced that Liv and Maddie actress Dove Cameron will be playing Mal in the film!

In Descendants, Belle and Beast, along with their benevolent and kind teenage son, rule over an idyllic kingdom. Their son is poised to take the throne, and his first official proclamation is his plan to give the children of villains a shot at redemption.

Carlos, Mal, Evvie and Jay are finally allowed to leave the forbidden island, where villains have been imprisoned. They are admitted to the best prep school in the kingdom, where they will study alongside the children of the Fairy Godmother, Sleeping Beauty, Rapunzel and Mulan.

However, the evil teens face a dilemma. Should they help the villains regain power over the kingdoms by following in their footsteps, or embrace the hero inside each of them and help to save the kingdom?

"We mined Disney's treasure trove of stories and developed a new, comedic approach to the fabled characters everyone knows and loves," explained said Gary Marsh, President and Chief Creative Officer at Disney Channels Worldwide. "The result is a modern and unexpected reinterpretation of classic heritage characters utilizing contemporary, relatable setting and themes."

With Project Runway contestant Kara Saun as wardrobe designer and so many Disney Channel Original Movie alumni from High School Musical, Camp Rock  and Teen Beach Movie on the production team, we expect Descendants to be a huge hit!  We absolutely can't wait to hear more information in the following months!
