Divergent Movie Releases Its First Images!

The first Divergent movie isn't scheduled to premiere until March 21, 2014, but with all the new publicity photos coming out, it's not too early to get excited!

Shailene Woodley and Theo James are cast as the leads Tris and Four in the Divergent film, based off of the book series by Veronica Roth.

The first two books, Divergent and Insurgent are our absolute favorites. The third and final book of the series, Allegiant, should release October 22 of this year!

Shailene Woodley plays the role of Beatrice Prior, known also as Tris, who lives in a dystopian society where every person is segregated into one of five groups based on their virtue: Abnegnation, Amity, Candor, Dauntless, or Erudite.

Every year, the 16-year-olds within this society take a test that tells them which group they belong to. These teens can decide to either continue to live with their families or to move to the new faction where they must abandon the lives they knew in order to succeed in life.

Beatrice comes from a family in the Abnegation faction, but doesn't feel she demonstrates the selflessness required to remain in that faction.

When she takes the test she gets a strange result. She shows aptitude for the Abnegation, Erudite, AND Dauntless factions, making her "Divergent." If people find out she is Divergent, her life will be in danger, so she learns to keep this a secret.

Beatrice eventually chooses the Dauntless faction and changes her name to Tris- but how will she succeed with her Erudite and Abnegnation qualities always lying just below the surface?
