Do They Know It’s Christmas? Video From Band Aid 30!

One Direction, Ed Sheeran, Ellie Goulding and many more stars joined forces in the recording studio this weekend for Band Aid 30, re-recording the classic song "Do They Know It's Christmas?" to fight the ebola crisis in West Africa!

It's been 30 years since the first Band Aid convened to record the "Do They Know It's Christmas" single, which raised funds to fight famine in Ethiopia. This time around, a whole new generation of artists joined forces in the studio to recreate the song for a new cause: combatting ebola.

The video for Band Aid 30 begins with a grim scene that highlights their cause, as rescue workers carry a very sick woman out of her home away to get treatment.

But more help is coming. We next see some of the biggest stars in music arriving one by one at the studio to record a new track that will make a huge difference in the lives of people stricken by ebola.

The song features a massive all-star cast including Bastille, Bono, Clean Bandit, Disclosure, Elbow, Paloma Faith, Fuse ODG, Nick Grimshaw, Angelique Kidjo, Coldplay's Chris Martin, Olly Murs, Sinead O'Connor, One Direction, Rita Ora, Emeli Sandé, Seal, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Underworld and Jessie Ware!

The lyrics of the track, which are updated from the original lines to reflect the problem of ebola, remind people that, even though Christmas is generally a joyful time for us, many people across the world aren't so lucky. It's harder for people who suffer from ebola or live in fear of the disease.

The single was recorded on Saturday, aired on television Sunday night, and went on sale Monday morning in the U.K. on iTunes. It made more than £1 million within four or five minutes after it was made available for download. If you live in the U.S., you can get your own download here for $1.29!
