We Tried Drops of Dough and OMG, Our Taste Buds Are Forever Changed
Can you think of the best cookie you've ever had?
Is it homemade? From the grocery store? My mom's cookies have always been my favorite, but after trying out Drops of Dough and its delicious products, there's definitely another contender.
A few weeks ago, the team at Drops of Dough sent me a package filled with all sorts of yummy goodies. From cookie dough to ice cream sandwiches, there was plenty of goodness to go around (not that I shared that much). Interested in finding out more about Drops of Dough? Keep scrolling for my full review of the brand and its Classic Gift Assortment package.
The Brand
Drops of Dough was created after years of trial-and-error. After trying out hundreds of variations of recipes for cookies, the founders were finally happy and Drops of Dough was born. Known for their frozen cookie dough and ice cream sandwiches made with quality ingredients, this brand not only makes delicious products, but also uses sustainable packaging and gives 5% of proceeds to pediatric cancer research.
The Products
The team at Drops of Dough sent me their popular Classic Gift Assortment ($75), which is full of some yummy cookie products along with a silicone baking mat.
18 Scoops in a Resealable Bag of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
After baking these at 375° for about eight minutes, I took these babies out and enjoyed a scrumptious bite. The dough itself was perfect, and the big chocolate chunks were even better. My boyfriend scarfed down four of these in about 10 minutes. So it's safe to say they were pretty dang good.
Ingredients include organic flour, chocolate chips (semisweet chocolate (sugar, unsweetened chocolate, cocoa butter) sunflower lecithin, vanilla), organic brown sugar, real butter (pasteurized cream, salt), organic eggs, cane sugar, pure vanilla extract, baking soda and salt.
18 Scoops in a Resealable Bag of Oatmeal Chocolate Chip
My favorite cookies of all time are oatmeal flavored, so I had some high hopes for the oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. After baking these at 375° for about eight minutes, I dove right in. They were amazing straight out of the oven, but I liked them even more the next day.
Ingredients include semisweet chocolate chips (sugar, unsweetened chocolate, cocoa butter, dextrose and sunflower lecithin), organic whole grain oats, butter (pasteurized cream (milk), salt), organic brown sugar, cane sugar, organic whole wheat flour, organic eggs, organic flour, pure vanilla extract, cinnamon, baking soda and salt.
Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Sandwiches
By far my favorite product was the chocolate chip ice cream sandwiches. I can't even begin to tell you how mouthwatering they are. The cookies themselves are perfectly baked and the vanilla ice cream sandwiched between them is delightful. My boyfriend and I ate these in a few nights, even though I did not want to share. But since I'm so generous, I allowed him to split them with me.
Ingredients include organic flour, organic chocolate chips (cacao beans, sugar, cocoa, sunflower lecithin, vanilla), organic brown sugar, butter (pasteurized cream (milk), salt), organic eggs, organic cane sugar, pure vanilla extract, baking soda, salt. Ice Cream Ingredients: cream, skim milk, cane sugar, egg yolks and vanilla extract.
Chocolate Brownie Ice Cream Sandwiches
After we'd gone through the chocolate chips sandwiches, we moved onto the chocolate brownie ice cream sandwiches. These, too, were flavorful and yummy. If you're a chocolate person, I highly suggest getting your hands on this flavor. And while I can't say I liked it better than the chocolate chip cookies, these were still gone within a matter of days.
Ingredients include organic flour, butter (pasteurized cream (milk), salt), organic brown sugar, organic eggs, cane sugar, cocoa (dutch processed with alkali) cream of tartar, pure vanilla extract, baking soda. Ice Cream Ingredients: cream, skim milk, cane sugar, egg yolks and vanilla extract.
Bottom Line
If you love dessert as much as I do but don't like to over-indulge, you need to try out Drops of Dough's chocolate chip ice cream sandwiches. They're petite in size and won't give you a tummyache. They'll satisfy your sweet tooth in no time. As I sit here, my mouth is literally watering thinking about them.
