Dufour-Lapointe Sisters Take Home Silver and Gold!
Sisters Justine and Chloé Dufour-Lapointe demonstrated some sisterly girl power at the Sochi Winter Olympics on February 8 when they took home the gold and silver medals in the Freestyle Skiing Ladies' Moguls category!
In mogul skiing, skiers show off awesome tricks, jumps and turns to impress the judges and spectators alike. Mogul skiing is especially difficult because of the small bumps, or "moguls," throughout the course!
19-year-old Justine Dufour-Lapointe from Montréal outcompeted the other ladies in the category last week to take home Canada's first gold medal of the 2014 Winter Olympics!
Her 22-year-old sister, Chloé Dufour-Lapointe, scored nearly as many points to win second place and take the silver medal. The two sisters held hands as they stepped onto the podiums to accept their awards.
The eldest of the three sisters, Maxime Dufour-Lapointe, also participated in the event. She finished in 12th place. That's what being sisters is all about!
