This Earring Trend Is the Only Piercing That Won’t Hurt

We've been privy to every kind of piercing.

From belly to ear, to nose and more, there's really no surprising us. So it was definitely refreshing to see Kylie Jenner recently debut a new type of piercing we had yet to be acquainted with: the hair piercing.

The unique hairstyle first caught our eye during Coachella when the beauty maven showed off a long braid in one of her Instagram videos. Kylie waved her hair, which was carefully accented by earrings piercing through the braid part of her style.

Once we took notice, it was hard to not spot all the cool girls everywhere who'd been rocking this look for months. People jumped on the trend and decorated their braids to mimic a pierced ear.

To DIY this look, you first have to decide if you want your base to be a french braid, a boxer braid or a plain pony like Kylie's. After you style the top part of your head in one of three aforementioned styles, you braid your pony all the way down.

After the braid is secured, you can choose from various accessory types to adorn the braid part. If you have small hoops laying around, you can "pierce" those through the braid. You can also purchase hoop-like hair accessories if you want to splurge. Our preference is to flat-out dig into our jewelry boxes and "pierce" through the braid with our favorite earring styles.

The last step involves giving your head a good spray to make sure everything stays in place. Now, this is one piercing job that doesn't require a professional!
