That's why, when we were sent a copy of Glitter! A Celebration of Sparkle, we were stoked to find a slew of incredibly easy DIY gift ideas fit for anyone who feels even the slightest bit festive. The quotes and trivia throughout the cute coffee table accessory are also a nice accompaniment to the DIYs.
While we can't promise these projects won't get a wee bit messy, we can predict they'll be crowd-pleasers. Keep reading for five incredibly easy DIY glitter gifts you can give anyone during the holidays:
Glitter Snow Globe
What You'll Need:
Superglue
Plastic decoration
Glass jar with lid
Glitter
Instructions:
1. Glue your decoration to the inside of the jar lid.
2. Fill the jar with water and craft glitter.
3. Glue the inner rim of the lid and twist tightly onto the jar.
4. Once the glue has dried, flip the jar upside down, and ta-da: It's snowing glitter!
Glitter Candles
What You'll Need:
Tape
Paintbrush
Mod Podge
Glitter
Solid-colored candles taken out of their packaging
Instructions:
1. Tape off sections of the candle where you want your glitter to go.
2. Use a brush to apply a coat of Mod Podge to the candle.
3. Pour your glitter over the candle, turning it to ensure you get every side.
4. Peel off the tape, and voilà—The perfect seasonal accessory!
Glitter Magnets
What You'll Need:
Superglue
Paintbrush
Clear flat-back marbles
Glitter
Varnish
Magnets
Instructions:
1. Dab glue on the flat back of the marble and spread with the paintbrush.
2. Dip the marble in glitter.
3. Apply varnish over the glitter and then let dry.
4. Glue the magnet to the flat back of the marble, and boom!
(Dishwasher-Safe) Glitter-Dipped Mug
What You'll Need:
Masking tape
Glass or porcelain mug
Paintbrush
Dishwasher-safe Mod Podge
Glitter
Instructions:
1. Tape off your mug and use the paintbrush to apply Mod Podge below the tape line.
2. Go wild with your glitter (no rules apply!).
3. Peel off tape an let dry for 4-8 hours.
4. Use paintbrush to dab a coat of Mod Podge over the glitter. Let sit for 28 days before washing in dishwasher. Be very gentle when hand-washing.
Glitter Phone Case
What You'll Need:
Glitter
Mod Podge
Foam paint brush
Solid-colored phone case
Instructions:
1. Mix glitter with Mod Podge in a bowl.
2. Use a foam brush to paint mixture onto phone case.
3. Let dry overnight.
