Easy Last-Minute Party Hors D’oeuvres

Everyone loves impressing their friends and family with perfectly planned recipes, but sometimes you just don't have the time or energy to figure everything out in advance.

If you're left needing some quick, simple and most importantly easy hors d'oeuvres for an upcoming party, you've come to the right place. Here are a few that are still sure to leave a good impression (not to mention a good taste):

1. Caprese Skewers

Looking for a quick and simple recipe that's not only vegetarian, but that doesn't require any cooking? Caprese skewers are a last-minute appetizer really does it all. All you need is some grape or cherry tomatoes, small balls of fresh mozzarella, fresh basil leaves, toothpicks and the optional addition of some balsamic glaze drizzled over the top.

2. Cream Cheese Pinwheels

Cream cheese pinwheels can seem gourmet depending on the ingredients you use, but really, they take minimal prep and are easy to throw in the oven. All you do is spread some cream cheese (or hummus if you want to go vegan) and the fillings of your choice (we recommend olives and other veggies, but you can also put your choice of meat in as well) onto some store-bought crescent roll dough, then roll them up into a spiraled pinwheel shape before baking. Bonus: any extras can be heated up in the air fryer later for some super delicious leftovers.

3. Mini Avocado Toast

Who says avocado toast is only for brunch? To make it a quick and easy hors d'oeuvres simply spread your mashed and seasoned avocado (pro tip: don't forget to add some lemon juice) on mini pieces of bread or small slices of baguette that you arrange on a large plate. If it's a Christmas party you're attending, you can even arrange them as a Christmas tree for bonus creativity points.

4. Baked Brie

Turns out one of the fanciest appetizers there can take as little as two ingredients to whip up. Baked brie is a major crowd-pleaser, but especially when you add a little something sweet on top. Think fig jam, cranberry sauce or even a drizzle of hot honey. If no one at the party has nut allergies, topping it with some roasted walnuts can also add a ton of texture that takes the whole thing up a notch. Pair it with crackers or bread and prepare to impress.

5. Air-Fried Meatballs/Veggie Meatballs

Even if you bought the main ingredient at the store, you still put in the effort of putting this popular hors d'oeuvres together and that is good enough for most people at the party. Throw your meatballs or vegan meatballs of choice in the air fryer (or oven if you still don't have an air fryer), get a sauce together and stick toothpicks in each cooked ball to make the dipping experience better for guests who don't want to risk getting their hands dirty.
