Eddie Redmayne’s 1st Encounter With Some “Fantastic Beasts”
It's official! Eddie Redmayne is playing Newt Scamander in the Harry Potter spinoff Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them. We have no idea when the movie is coming out, but it won't be soon enough, so we imagined what Eddie would look like next to our favorite fantastic beasts from the wizarding world.
Hippogriffs have the head of an eagle and the body of a horse. They can only be tamed by experts, but we think Eddie will have things under control.
Centaurs are half horse, half man, and 100% rideable.
Basilisks are massive snakes with highly venomous fangs. We're guessing a master of beasts will know how to craft the antidote to its poison.
Werewolves live out most of their lives as humans, but lose control and turn into dangerous creatures during the full moon. Look how chill Eddie is next to this one.
Trolls make up for their lack of smarts with their massive size and can pick up a full-grown man by the leg, swinging him around like a rag doll.
Ten breeds of dragon are known, but all are incredibly dangerous to all but the most skilled wizards. Eddie should be able to handle this baby Norwegian Ridgeback, right?
If you're arachnophobic, watch out for the Acromantula. It's a giant, talking tarantula-like spider. Of course Eddie would be besties with Aragog.
Merpeople are music-loving sea dwellers somewhere between a fish and a person. Some of them aren't so pretty as the mermaids we know from muggle fairy tales, but Eddie's not shallow like that (no pun intended).
The Phoenix is a symbol of rebirth, and for good reason. They live basically forever, and regenerate at death. Plus, their tears can heal just about anything (which will definitely come in handy during Newt's adventures).
Thestrals are a type of Winged Horse that can only be seen by those who have witnessed death. They're supposed to be bad luck, but they're probably just misunderstood.
