by Tayah Fox
On May 3, ENHYPEN took over Chicago's Allstate Arena on their Fate + World Tour, putting on an energetic show that delivered everything their local ENGENEs could have wanted.
After concluding their FATE World Tour in 2023, the seven-member K-pop ensemble returned to the U.S. to put on the show of a lifetime and witness the unwavering love and support of American ENGENEs in return. We were pleased to catch the group for their unforgettable performance in Chicago, where they paid tribute to local music, coordinated a dance battle and even invited Pokémon to join them onstage. 'Future Perfect (Pass the Mic)'
A Chicago Drill-inspired song performed in Chicago? Yes, please. If there's one song ENGENEs couldn't wait to hear, it's "Future Perfect (Pass the Mic)." With the song's very first note, fans erupted into a full-blown karaoke session, almost overpowering the group's vocals from the stage. ENHYPEN gave one of the most powerful performances of the songs since its release, and the crowd gave them back every bit of that energy in return.

ENHYPEN vs. ENGENE Dance Battle
To keep the momentum going during the show, ENHYPEN called on ENGENEs to engage in a friendly dance battle to their song "Go Big or Go Home." A few lucky fans were selected from the crowd to showcase their dance moves, challenging the group to show off their best moves. Chosen by a water bottle spun by Ni-Ki, Sunghoon served as the representative for the group, showing his shy yet cool dance moves. It's simplest to say that both parties won this one.
'One and Only' Featuring Special Guests
In July of 2023, ENHYPEN teamed up with Pokémon for a lively pop single titled "One and Only." The group took this track to the stage, but not without a couple of special guests. A group of adorable Pikachu mascots waddled their way onto the stage, each accompanying a member. The members engaged in mischievous behavior by picking fights (and losing) with their Pikachus while other members gave their Pikachus love through hugs, belly rubs and head pats.

A Special Song for Chicago
ENHYPEN prepares a special song cover for each show, and Chicago was delighted to receive a lovely cover of One Direction's "What Makes You Beautiful." With the meaning of the song, it's evident that the group wanted to send a message to their fans about self-love and beauty. ENHYPEN used their platform to spread a sentimental message through this song, creating a beautiful moment that fans will hold near and dear to their hearts forever, and dreaming of the day they'll make their exciting return.
