Everything We Know About the Upcoming The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Show
This is NOT a drill—The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, finally has a release date!
If you're a fan of The Lord of the Rings series by J.R.R. Tolkien, we're right there in the same boat with you. And while we love the universe in TLOTR and The Hobbit, we've been craving to learn and see even more. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, is going to do just that for us, and we couldn't be more excited. Looking forward to the show as much as us? Continue below for everything you need to know about it!
When does it air?
Sep. 2, 2022!
Where can I watch it?
Amazon Prime!
Are there any characters returning from The Lord of the Rings movies?
Sadly, no—but maybe in later seasons? The series is actually set thousands of years before what we saw in The Lord of the Rings films. We think it's interesting this "universe" created by J.R.R. Tolkien has been released in reverse order, starting with The Lord of the Rings, then The Hobbit and now The Lord of Rings: The Rings of Power! With each new one, we get taken back in time.
What is the show about?
We're expecting to learn all about Middle-earth's history in this new television show. Set during the Second Age, which is thousands of years before what took place in The Lord of the Rings, the show is going to cover everything TLOTR fans have come to love. From elven warriors to forbidden human romances, forging of the rings (maybe?) and more, we're expecting to witness one epic story unfold.
Who is starring in the show?
Morfydd Clark, Peter Mullan, Benjamin Walker, Nazanin Boniadi, Robert Aramayo, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Ismael Cruz Cordova, Trystan Gravelle, Charles Edwards, Maxim Baldry and many more! While not a lot of the names are probably familiar, we're willing to bet they will soon become household names after the release (and hopefully success) of the show.
Is there a trailer?
There is a teaser trailer available to watch, below!
