What You Need to Throw the Best Summer Get-Together
Summer is finally in full swing, and that means that so are summer parties of every kind.
While summer get-togethers are fun to attend, they can be even more fun to host—but not without a little bit of planning. Thankfully, we're here to provide you with some must-have tips, tricks and ca n't-miss items to throw the best summer get-together so far. Grab your SPF and dive in with:
A Good Theme
Whether you go for "coastal cowgirl," "garden party," "Barbie bash" or even "summer of sustainability," there's a theme for every type of party you want to throw this summer. While you could just go for a classic standby like a pool party, throwing in the extra theme just gives guests a little something more to get excited about (and to keep them talking about your get-together being the event of the summer for the rest of the year).

Proper Props
Theme or no theme, no summer get-together would be complete without the right props. From rainbow or heart-shaped sunglasses to personalized drinkware and so much more, make your summer soiree complete with some finishing touches to impress your guests.
Sun Protection
This might not be the most fun part of the party to plan, but trust us when we say that nothing can ruin a good time faster than a nasty sunburn. Protect your guests with shade structures if possible, but also keep some reliable SPF on hand for premier protection when the sun is shining. Grab a few extra bottles from your nearest grocery store, or choose one from a few of our favorites:

Summer-Perfect Snacks
What would a get-together even be without snacks for guests to much on while enjoying some fun in the sun? Whether you go the classic cookout route or freshen things up with a plant-based spread, the key is to have some solid options so that every attendee will have something they can truly enjoy. We recommend incorporating some fresh ingredients (think sliced fruit and veggie trays) as often as possible to keep guests hydrated and happy—but don't forget the dessert, either.
A Well-Crafted Invite
Instead of simply sending out a group text that gets lost in everyone's inbox, try creating a pamphlet on Canva or even an old-fashioned Facebook invite. An e-vite that gives guests all the information about when, where and what to wear can be the difference between a summer party success and a hot mess. Plus, it's easy to send to any invitees you may have accidentally left off the initial invite list.

Consider a Potluck
Potluck-style dinners are becoming more and more popular, and for good reason. They save time and money for the host while improving the experience for everyone thanks to the wide variety of options available, so why not try out the same concept for your summer get-together too? This works best when you plan the event around the meal at hand (be it brunch, lunch or dinner), so make sure that guests are given all the necessary information before simply asking that they bring something.
